Stephens Kings "Under the Dome" [TV Series]

any thoughts on what this is going to be like? debuts tonight/June 24th.

"Truman show" meets "Revolution" ? some sort of apocalyptic craziness again whereas a small town is locked within a dome.

that was exactly the first thing i thought of when i saw the commercials ;)

but knowing stephen king is behind it im hoping it will turn out to be a good show

don't have my hopes up though

FerrariEnzo 06-24-2013 09:36 PM

is this the new show after GoT?
I was wondering thats the next big show after GoT...

twitchyzero 06-24-2013 09:45 PM

I've no interest in this show until I saw Dean Norris (aka Hank Schrader) in the commercials :lol

StylinRed 06-24-2013 10:06 PM

wasnt a bad first episode

feel like they filled it with too much crazy too soon though, but i guess they have to
sucks for Fahey

Soundy 06-24-2013 10:25 PM

My first thinking when I saw the trailers was "Jericho ripoff".

First episode doesn't do much to change that impression.

Not bad, though. Will watch again.

way2quik 06-25-2013 09:39 PM

Not bad first episode.
I'll continue to watch it.
I'm one of those who did not read the book to compare.

murd0c 06-26-2013 03:12 PM

I find new shows it always takes 3-4 episodes to get a feel of it. I'm more curious how long the oyygen will last. Kinda reminds me of a outter limites episode where a small chunk of a town was taken to another planet where the aliens atmosphere was interduced in a dome like that to see if they could use the humans as slaves on their planet.

white rocket 06-27-2013 07:48 AM

I didn't mind it. Will continue to watch.

trip 06-27-2013 10:04 AM

gotta be aliens

ts14 06-27-2013 10:10 AM

this is the first thing that popped into my head

shows like revolution and flash forward and now under the dome should be made into movies and not tv shows

btw if u wanna know how it ends just google the novel under the dome lol

604STIG 06-28-2013 07:30 AM

Did anyone else wonder why they didn't just try to dig their way out/in under the dome?

Ferra 06-28-2013 08:01 AM

read the book a few years ago when it first came out....
the book was LONGGGG....with a lot of subplots and minors characters (kinda like GOT), definitely not good for a 2hr movie

It seems they changed a lot of the story plot right from the start tho... :suspicious:

SkinnyPupp 07-06-2013 03:20 AM

StylinRed 07-06-2013 03:49 AM

they did/do

SkinnyPupp 07-06-2013 05:39 AM

You didn't facepalm when they tried to put out a fire by dumping buckets of water on the front porch where there was no fire? :lawl:

StylinRed 07-06-2013 06:45 PM

lol i did but that can be attributed to stupid small towns folk than bad production i guess lol

white rocket 07-09-2013 01:25 PM

Well, I'm kind of into it now. More curious than anything but like SkinnyPupp said, there ain't shit all else to watch. LOL!

murd0c 07-09-2013 03:16 PM

I would be more worried about suffocation if I was in their spot... I'm kinda confused why no one hasn't said a thing about that yet.

What about food? It's not like the grocery store has an infinite supply.

This show is lackluster but I'll probably keep watching for the same reasons listed above.

they did/do

you'd think between stephen king/spielberg it ought to be decent.

and where is the electricity coming from? I think for the oxygen with all the trees should be enough to convert the CO2 of people breathing, they will probably run out of fossil fuels soon so that would be less of an issue.

But wouldnt it get super hot in there like a green house?

white rocket 07-09-2013 07:03 PM

The dome is porous so air can get in and out.
