Stephens Kings "Under the Dome" [TV Series]

any thoughts on what this is going to be like? debuts tonight/June 24th.

"Truman show" meets "Revolution" ? some sort of apocalyptic craziness again whereas a small town is locked within a dome.

I've no interest in this show until I saw Dean Norris (aka Hank Schrader) in the commercials

My first thinking when I saw the trailers was "Jericho ripoff".

First episode doesn't do much to change that impression.

Not bad, though. Will watch again.

Not bad first episode.
I'll continue to watch it.
I'm one of those who did not read the book to compare.

I find new shows it always takes 3-4 episodes to get a feel of it. I'm more curious how long the oyygen will last. Kinda reminds me of a outter limites episode where a small chunk of a town was taken to another planet where the aliens atmosphere was interduced in a dome like that to see if they could use the humans as slaves on their planet.

Did anyone else wonder why they didn't just try to dig their way out/in under the dome?

read the book a few years ago when it first came out....
the book was LONGGGG....with a lot of subplots and minors characters (kinda like GOT), definitely not good for a 2hr movie

It seems they changed a lot of the story plot right from the start tho...

You didn't facepalm when they tried to put out a fire by dumping buckets of water on the front porch where there was no fire?

I would be more worried about suffocation if I was in their spot... I'm kinda confused why no one hasn't said a thing about that yet.

What about food? It's not like the grocery store has an infinite supply.

This show is lackluster but I'll probably keep watching for the same reasons listed above.

they did/do
you'd think between stephen king/spielberg it ought to be decent.

and where is the electricity coming from? I think for the oxygen with all the trees should be enough to convert the CO2 of people breathing, they will probably run out of fossil fuels soon so that would be less of an issue.

But wouldnt it get super hot in there like a green house?

The dome is porous so air can get in and out.
