That's the thing, it wasn't from the professional "journalists" at the Vancouver Sun, but rather from the bloggers previously from Pass it to Bulis (now Vancouver Sun Sports Blog).

That's probably the case. Much like Puck Daddy and the old Kurtenblog. I miss KB. Still follow one on twitter. Not sure what the other guy is doing lol

Edit: Looks like both KB guys work for PHT now.

Not sure if it started out as a hobby but Harrison Mooney is also a writer for Yahoo Sport's Puck Daddy. Under Pass it to Bulis, he contributes one page of hockey news per week for the Vancouver Sun paper (and even more online) for around 2 years already.

I also don't think that AV lost the room. This article kinda explains why. If AV were still coach he probably would've continued to roll his lines. The problem for AV was not motivation, it was not being able to make the adjustments to overcome the obstacles. I think we were all wondering last year why he didn't use Garrison more on the PP. Everyone knew, you shut down the Sedins then you'll shut down the Canucks. I guess this is also on Gillis b/c he failed to provide the necessary pieces (he tried, but failed miserably: Derrick Roy, etc...). This winning streak has been great, but I agree with some that we are at least one piece away from having a team that can do some damage in the playoffs.

^ While you're right with most of what you said, it still doesn't explain the apparent lack of effort displayed on most nights. During the last 2 first-round exits, the Canucks looked as if they couldn't get up for the games. A hallmark of "effort" in said playoff games is the willingness to go through walls/players to get the puck. I can't really recall any big hits from the last 2 playoff exits. Not initiated by the Canucks at least. They didn't, and it looked like they treated the games like regular season game #65 against the Calgary Flames. You could almost argue that they took AV's teachings (being even-keeled, one shift at a time, blah blah blah) too far in the past 2 playoff series'.

Lord, this looks like a painful hit. Hate to see a young guy like Schenn get hurt like that. Wilson took a pretty hefty charge and I think he got him just enough from behind to warrant suspension, though Schenn turned a bit. It's really hard to tell, especially with how fast it happened. Hit him in a dangerous position though.

Looking at the slo-mo.

Yes, it's a bad hit. Yes, he shouldn't have hit him but part of this is on Schenn. He holds that puck for so long, head down and turns as he's about to be hit.

From the other perspective, it's a hit to the back only because he turns, stays on his feet and the guy getting hit has the puck.

Fucking dangerous but I don't know how illegal that is apart from the acceleration into the player. Shit my neck hurts just looking at that.
