Cory Monteith found dead in Vancouver

Dunno who it is yet....

According to Global, " BREAKING: Vancouver Police have said "a Hollywood actor found dead today". A news conference is scheduled for 10:30."

Any guesses?

Some have said it is some guy from Glee?

Kind of weird they are having a press conference...

okay...so dude from Glee. Why the news conference 1030 on a sat night? do they usually do this?

maybe the police killed him ;)

there are press conferences whenever there's a death/murder initially a short statement and then one the day after so that police can get all the facts together

kinda jumping the gun aren't they

Guess the rehab facility he left at the end of april didn't work...

The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old actor Cory Monteith, who achieved great fame on the popular TV series Glee.

Before I give further information, on behalf of the Vancouver Police, I want to pass on our condolences to the family, friends, castmates and millions of fans of Mr. Monteith. As was the case in countless homes, I watched Glee regularly with my daughters, and I know there will be shock and sadness in many households with the news of his tragic death.

Mr. Monteith checked into the hotel in July 6th and was due to check out of the room today. There were others with Mr. Monteith in his room earlier last night, but video and fob key entries show him returning to his room by himself in the early morning hours and we believe he was alone when he died.

When he missed his check-out time, staff went to the room at noon and found his body.

We know there will be considerable interest in this case, and we have detectives assigned to the case who attended with our Forensic Identification Unit to examine the scene, to ensure to the extent possible that there are no unanswered questions.

Hotel video has been secured as well as room access records. Our investigators have spoken with hotel staff, who are providing the utmost in cooperation.

An autopsy is schduled for Monday. The Coroner will be determining the next steps with respect to establishing cause of death, but all indications are that there was no foul play.

Damn, had no idea he had drug problems.

I remember reading that he had a weed habit when he was younger but didn't know he had a problem with...y'know, drugs that could kill him.

Ok, I know. There is like a .01% chance it wasn't drugs.

Am I an asshole to think that these types of news stories are useless? Fb is again flooded with "RIPs". He didn't die in any tragic way, he died because of drugs. I really don't get it.

He voluntarily entered a drug rehab program because he was actively trying to kick his habit.

There's a chance it wasn't drugs, sure, but 31-year olds don't usually drop dead in hotel rooms. He seemed healthy enough to sing and dance and if he had a deadly condition, it wasn't public.

But it was public that he checked himself into rehab and left in April...so probably drugs.

This is really sad, Cory was a Canucks fan.

The only difference between this guy and the crack heads down the street from him on the dtes is that he OD'd in 500 $ a night suite.

I'm not looking forward to all these RIP memorials and tv specials starting tomorrow. This should serve as a warning to all those kids who watch Glee....doesn't matter how rich you are, the drugs will still kill you.
