whoa..this thread caught up quick...lol imma try and answer all the questions as much as possible, but lemme know if i missed out..

-yes its stock friendly (seen smaller suv's go up there too (rav4))
-i will be carrying recovery equipment/tools but others should bring some too just as a precaution.
-drinks/food/bbq stuff is a must
-pinstriping will be present if your not carefull
-i WILL be a weekend (TBA)
-any type of vehicle will make it up with the dry season (smaller cars will have to be slow and steady)

we will not force anyone to do something their not comfortable doing, so if it does come across one of us, then one of us will sure have an extra spot in our car for that individual. this will be a typical day trip if we decide to leave at 10ish. duzn't take long to explore the area. I was thinking MAYBE the first weekend of August...probably a sunday (still under discussion)

I would be completely down for this... As soon as my Escape is up and running... (so anything after next weekend :) )

Is this going to be a family friendly event so I can have my son tag along? lol Or is T4 going to show up in a thong?? :nyan:

Just seen on BCJC:

Quote:

The Britannia Mine is owned and managed by the Province of British Columbia and is regulated subject to an approved Mines Act permit. Access is restricted and approval to enter onto the mine can only be granted by the Britannia Mine Manager. All other access is considered trespass. This includes access via the Furry Creek Forest Service Road off of the Sea to Sky Highway, as well as access via the gate above the community of Britannia Beach.

Access to the site is restricted to protect both the general public and the mine workers from hazards associated with the abandoned mine infrastructure, as well as the ongoing remedial operations. These operations include site investigations, monitoring programs, road maintenance, road reactivation and deactivation, and the disposal of waste sludge generated by the mine site’s water treatment plant. That sludge is transported via mining trucks from the town site to the top of Jane Basin where it is disposed of at an approved landfill.

Please note that any unauthorized access to a mine, including the Britannia Mine, is a contravention of the Mines Act Regulation and Code and is considered an offence under the Act. An offence is liable to fines and penalties.

we could still head up furry creek, just not to the mines.

elaho tour might work as a backup.

PinoyDrifta 07-22-2013 03:35 PM

Well there goes the plan of going there. We're taking request. I was thinking of the elaho FSR, explore a little and find this Elaho Giant. We can check out peaches and Creme falls as well as elaho sand bar. What do y'all think?

T4RAWR 07-22-2013 03:37 PM

Elaho is fine - and dusty

PinoyDrifta 07-22-2013 06:57 PM

Yeah that's the thing if we do elaho we would have to drive with spacing.

T4RAWR 07-22-2013 07:05 PM

Geoc 07-22-2013 08:58 PM

can you drive on the sandbar?

I have a feeling this meet will be a trap, and the organizers will just lead us to whipsaw or stave lake and watch as everyone dies.

Matties 07-22-2013 10:14 PM

hahah! that would be epic.... you guys are going to keep me in the loop though BEFORE that happens right?

Zedbra 07-23-2013 07:47 AM

there is a road from Pemberton down to Stave Lake. Takes at least 8 hours, most people camp it out over night

Soundy 07-23-2013 08:22 AM

Sure you're not thinking of Harrison Lake? The West Harrison - Pemberton route is well-known. Never heard of one between Stave and Pemberton.

Geoc 07-24-2013 11:53 AM

This thread seems all too quiet. So I am going to throw this out here:

I'm planning to cruise through some light trails along east harrison on perhaps 9th or 10th. If anyone is available please lemme know.

Note: I'll be clueless about the route myself, but it shouldn't be too bad.
