The guy in the orange should get a lifetime ban, what a fucking moron.

Purely 07-23-2013 10:05 PM

LOL that guy just runs aways..

PiuYi 07-23-2013 10:09 PM

sad both teams got disqualified... looked like only one guy was the aggressor

Marshall Placid 07-23-2013 10:13 PM

Weird. Sad. And Entertaining.

And, it was funny how the yellow shirt player ran away.

Can't get video to start at 1:14 but this is what I kept thinking about.

In sports, tension always builds up when the competition does, but I always think that modesty and maturity is the way to go even when provoked. Rather than fist fight, I would take it on the court

Not really racist! 07-23-2013 10:45 PM

:lawl:

what a bunch of fucking morons

strong chair throw and kick to face...

Gtrr33 07-23-2013 10:53 PM

and they say badminton is a non contact sport

toyobaru 07-24-2013 07:13 AM

The two that fought were apparently ex-doubles partners.

Im surprised they were actually throwing punches and not slaps.

Hard to imagine how exciting it must be to call play-by-play for badminton. Makes me think of this:

"in badminton there is a lot of ego and testosterone!"

:lawl:

Psykopathik 07-24-2013 07:54 AM

i can only picture two skinny asian kids swatting each other with their rackets.

All you hear is "Whhiiitttt!OW! Whhhtitttt! OW!"

So in the aftermath, the guy that chased and did the hitting ended up bleeding around his ear...

I read that the victim did manage to swing his racquet at the other guys' ear, but I watched the video a few times and couldn't spot the moment when that happened.

For a sport where fighting is very rare, I find it surprising that everyone was so passive in trying to stop the fight from happening.
It's not like the guy suddenly rushed in and started throwing punches. Everyone knew what was about to go down during that funny game of tag.

Even after the fight started, it took them forever to get in there and break it up.

Does anyone know which badminton facility this took place in? I have pretty much retired from the sport due to old age and injuries, so I don't recognize all the current places anymore. But as a former player, I am just absolutely floored. Being professional and national level athletes, even if they wanted to physically settle whatever grudges they have against each other, the scores should have been settled on the court in badminton match.

Running, hurdling and MMA. I think these guys just invented a new sport

i-VTEC 07-24-2013 09:40 AM

Did the OP have "Richmond Oval" in the thread title before he edited the thread? I honestly didn't see it at the time when I posted.

But oh well... it isn't the first time, and won't be the last time when I inadvertently miss something.

I was at the Oval that day and wondered why there were RCMP talking to someone in the lobby. Didn't know this happened until a day later. They were ex-partners who finished top 8 at the olympics last year. the guy who was the "victim" apparently quit badminton right after olympics but came back with a new partner

It's in the title. OP can't change thread titles I think.

after they get up from the tussle on the floor, they break west of the camera, then north, then he swats him with the racket as hes backpeddling
