I hope Google will continue to subsidize all Nexus devices... a $299 Snapdragon 800 device will be off the charts

They should've never offered a 8GB. They should do a 16/32/64GB combo.

Most likely made by lg again. Based off the g2 iirc. I think I can take it or leave it. I had mixed feelings about the nexus 4. Currently pretty happy with my note 2.

Wonder why LG gets the nod again, cause they'll make the phone for the cheapest price?

Nexus 5 with Android OS 4.4 KitKat rumoured to launch on October 14th | MobileSyrup.com

With the Nexus 4 being sold out at Google Play and it receiving its carrier ‘end of life’ status, rumours are that the leaked ‘Nexus 5′ will be officially unveiled in October. The first sign of a potential release date comes with Android-focussed site AusDriod stating that Google and LG will unveil the Nexus 5 on Monday, October 14th – which is 1-month away.

In addition to this date, it’s also expected that the Nexus 5 will bring the availability of Android OS 4.4 KitKat to the masses. Little is known about the specific features Google will rollout, but the upgrade is rumoured to bring the following:

- New notification widgets
- Firmware availability to older phones
- Fragmentation changes (screen resizing)
- Miracast updates
- New Gallery Visualisation
- New APIs regarding animations
- Change android default blue to other preset palette colours

Of course, this October 14th date and KitKat features are rumours. Hopefully we’ll hear something about both soon.

It seems like it would be silly to buy a device with similar specs from anywhere else... I just ordered a 4 though, since I need a phone pretty urgently. Too bad timing didn't work out.

After reading the connectivity specs on the N5, it seems to be the only upgrade will be the LTE bands. Maybe 1080p screen. I doubt the CPU will be upgraded or could be considered an upgrade.

To be honest, LTE right now feels like a marketing ploy. It sucks battery, and what will you really use the speed for on a phone? On top of that, in Canada we have exceptionally high data prices.

Aren't the LTE plans the same as 3G?

I agree though, not important for a phone unless you're tethering. Tablet and up though, I'd want it for streaming

LTE and 3G are considered the same as data.

What I meant was, would you spend 50 CAD for 6 GB of data on a normal internet plan (Shaw, rogers, telus)? That's the kind of overpriced data I meant.

how much cheaper is 1 or 2GB data? 6GB is $30 which IIRC is only a bit more than 1 or 2
