Is there a way to send pictures/vids on Android in multiperson chats? It only allows me to send voice notes right now..

J____ 10-25-2013 02:54 AM

multiperson chat can only send voice notes

you actually need to create the multichat by creating group in order to add pictures and vids. Then the pictures can be commented by the users sorta like facebook.

It's one of the things I don't like about bbm

Ulic Qel-Droma 10-25-2013 11:22 AM

bbm wont make a come back. it's just a secondary chat app.

whatsapp, wechat have it all.

bbm...
where's my auto add contacts? i have to manually add everyone? wtf.
where's my voice chat?
where's my share location?
where's my custom notifications for individuals or groups?

the only thing i like about it is, it's not attached to your number, there's an actual account.

if they fix ALL of that, then it'll be at par...

but most of all BBM is lacking user base.

looking at a global scale... whatsapp and wechat beat all other chats (line comes close especially if you're japanese or taiwanese).

this is coming from a guy that uses every chat program out there all the time.

BBM as of right now, is not convenient enough.

jackmeister 10-25-2013 11:59 AM

bbm is not the same without a keyboard :okay:

and god damn those emoticons are SMALL

Even in the group... I find it so inconvenient to post pictures separately from chat.. and have other people "comment/post" on it.

You can't have one without the other, no?

If you use groups on whatsapp you are limited to 15 members. On BBM this increases to 30. Uncompressed picture sharing is only available if you email pictures or if you use BBM. Both MMS and whatsapp compress pictures.

BBM has proper Read message alerts. BBM lets you control who you add, no need to have peoples numbers, and it does not automatically add people who you do not want on your BBM.

This among much more. BBM is superior to whatsapp in every way. Its just a matter of time before everyone migrates back.

Only been hearing positive things. I just want everyone to finished transfering over from whatsapp so I can delete that app. :)

lol easy fan boy...this thread is a testament to all the "positive things" about the new BBM for Android/iOS.

Everyone seems to have the same concerns, it's simply not the same as it used to be.

This is an interface designed off of Blackberry 10. The iPhone and most Android devices do not implement swipe away features and so navigating through the app is tedious.

As mentioned earlier, the features are very bare with these multi-platform versions. Many features we used to enjoy are no longer there. Group chats are awful on BBM now, at least after using WhatsApp. I do like the idea of being able to comment on photos but I don't want go into a separate window to view, post and comment on them, that's just a little more work than needed.

If I really wanted BBM to work and use it, I would rather pick up a Bold 9900 or equivalent and use the services on there. Unfortunately, it's a lose-lose situation because that Bold 9900 would be good for messaging and ONLY messaging lol.

Purely 10-26-2013 12:25 AM

I don't see a point in multi-person chat and a separate group chat. You can only send voice notes in multi-chat... but can't send them in a group chat? There are no custom notifications... no sharing pictures, videos, location (useful), 30 ppl limit. Meme405, how can you honestly say BBM is better than Whatsapp?

What I do like about BBM: 1 on 1 conversations
The BBM pins are separate from phone number, and there are proper read/send messages (far better than Whatsapp imo).

yuusha 10-26-2013 09:35 PM

My store's staff are all using BBM now. I hate the Smiley button, they should swap the smiley button with the send button. Ugh.

Hopefully they bring over the new BBM/SMS popup/quickreply that is available in the Z30 and BB OS10.2

That would be dependant on the OS no? I don't think IOS or android support direct reply from notifications like bb10 does now. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Gh0stRider 10-30-2013 10:34 PM

hmm bbm seem to only work on wifi for me right now...

Alby 10-31-2013 12:09 AM

Shhh. I have shares in BB I need to dump. I need a slight up tick in the stock...:okay:

No, but in all seriousness, I see flaws in both programs. I just prefer BBM, and I think once they roll out all the other features they have planned and already implemented in the actual BB10 app, then it will really come into its own.

They did already say that ads are coming to the app, but they also mentioned that they will not be intrusive.

Mr.HappySilp 11-03-2013 09:49 PM

Too many chat apps already >< there is what's app, wechat, line, FB messenger, Skype, text message and now BBM......

if ad's come to the app, i will delete and never use again. it is one thing i have no patience for. fucking sick of being bombarded by ad's everywhere i go.

BBMme 11-04-2013 12:16 PM

I would gladly pay $ not to have ads on my bbm.
