my only complaint with the Jaybirds is I find they are a little big for my ears (hence why i'm trying to sell my X3's right now).

Just got what might be the best pound for pound over the ear headphones today. The Bose QC35-2 are simply amazing. Fantastic sound quality that isn't too bass punchy but you can feel it when it's there. They are light but feel very sturdy and my god, are these things comfortable. I have been using the AT M50x for a couple of years now and these are a big step up in comfort. I found that I could only wear the M50X for a couple of hours at best but the way they angled the inner speaker housing on the QC35 leaves a lot of room for your ears in the cup.

Careful not to rip your ear drums out when you take out the molds out of your ears.

For airplane travel are these pretty much as good as it gets or are sound "isolating" earbuds etc. better for cancelling the sound?

I've had great experiences with Bose products and they seem to last so i wouldnt hesitate on these, reviews seem as good as it gets as well so yea.. hmm..

So far I find them better at blocking out the noise of my 2 kids vs M50X, Bose Sound True Ultra or the Jaybird X3. They are fairly close to the Shure SE215 though.

Life hack I read recently for the Jaybird X3 and any other that have the same silicon earpiece connection styles. I've had them for awhile and I think the silicon has stretched so the silicon piece does not stay on well with friction anymore, which lead me to lose one of them on the plane. Anyways, you can use some teflon tape around the metal part and then put the silicon piece over it, now its pretty solid and no way of falling off again.

Bought the QuietComfort 35 II, they are awesome. Noise cancelling is crazy and the quality is about as best i've heard from bose in terms of the bass lines

twitchyzero 04-09-2018 12:04 PM

returning the senn hd1 free...they don't stay in during more vigorous activity
waiting for these...the regular versions that just came out are highly rated

The leatherette on the headband of my old Kingston HyperX Clouds from 2014 was breaking apart. Could've kept using them if I bought a headband cover, but decided to buy a pair of Steelseries Arctis 7 as I always wanted something wireless (using an Apple Magic Keyboard and a Logitech MX Master 2) to complete my setup.

Pleased with them so far. Microphone quality is top notch and comfort is good. The battery being non-replaceable is a bit of a worry, but anything wireless these days have planned obsolescence. Might take them apart when it comes to that.

Sound-wise, they're very boring out of the box. A bit of an EQ tweak on the low/high ends makes everything pop more, especially if listening to music. Luckily, these are strictly a gaming headset as I have other headphones for music.

Still use mine ATH-M50x at home. Audio is still awesome!

Bought a pair of Bose QC35 II's a while back for flights but after one flight, I had to return them. They feel tight on my head... lol

Replaced them with a pair of Edifier W860NB, so far so good. Had them for almost a year, been on many flights with them. ANC is good, not as good as the Bose but good enough. Bose ANC is very good but is it an extra $350 good? Nah... I'd like to try the Sony's next though if these ever break.
