Shure SE215
Creative ep-630
DT990 600 OHM edition
Audio Technica ATH-A900 (Not pictured)

I used to have Atrio M5's but one side crapped out and they wanted 100 dollars for replacement since it was over a year old.
I've had some 30-40 dollar IEMs too but they're not really that noteworthy.

I like the shures a lot they've lasted about 2 years now and I use comply foam tips which are pretty comfortable.

Out of the bunch I would say I like the dt990s the best. I like their bass. the A900s can hit deep but it's only in movies that it seems to sound good in (even when I amped/DACed them).

I listen to; Vocal trance, hip hop, pop, top40, classical, contemporary, country, m-pop, k-pop, soundtracks.

How were the HE-400? i was considering it, but decided i didn't want to carrying a portable amp around.

Worth the money?

Worth it for sure, but i never took them outside because the cable was super long, they were open headphones, and they were quite heavy

I used to be a heavy Head-Fi'er back in high school.

Favourite pair is still the Shure SE530s, but I've long since sold them. triple.fi's were a steal during the $100 sale.

Nowadays I just use the Apple IEMs.

Monster iSport Immersion. Great for the gym because they seal out noise, waterproof, and will not fall out of your ear. However the fin does hurt your ear after a while so I can't really use it for much else. Now I'm in the market for a pair of study headphones that will keep out decent amount of noise if I were to study at the library. I was looking at the Bose AE2. They seem to be very light and comfortable to wear for an extended period of time. the m20's are rated so high but they seem kind of heavy. Can someone who owns a pair tell me how they are comfort wise?

willystyle 10-02-2013 09:44 PM

Thinking about getting the ATH-M50, how are they with listening to Jazz?

I currently own a Sony MDR-XB500, these are bass junkies, has alot of bass, but not so good with Jazz/Classical, will I notice a significant difference with the M50?

Fawwwwk this thread makes me so jelly all the headphones out there.

I'm looking for some in ear that I can use for daily commute via transit. Don't know where I put my JVCs.

Bose ie2, Sony MDR-XB400 (for sale :fullofwin: )

Listen to trance and pretty much everything else. The ie2s are lacking in bass, but they'll suffice for now :okay:

Amazon.com: GOgroove audiOHM Ergonomic Earbuds with Interchangeable Custom Silicon Ear Pieces (4 sizes): MP3 Players & Accessories

I had etymotic MC3's which were rated as some of the best headphones under $100, and these are honestly almost as good, and durable as hell, and cheap.

These are the ones i wear at the gym/studying/bus/etc -- had em for over 1.5 years now and they're still perfect whereas my $100 mc3's died after a year

PS3/PC Gaming: Astro A40 (with mix-amp)
Portable: AKG K518
At work/home: AKG K550. I lug these to and from work in a UDG case.

I also have a pair of Sony MDRNC33 Noise Canceling Earbuds that I almost never use. I brought them with me on a couple of vacations, but I'm just not a big fan of IEMs because they make my ears "sweat" and ache after an hour or 2. Plus they don't sound that great (muddy).

Music I listen to is hip-hop/r&b, house/trance

What did you like about the 530s, how do they compare to the Apple IEMs?

I'm curious what the triple drivers sound like.
