Didn't get to watch the fight. Did it look like Jones was trying to make sure he didn't get hurt so he could be in 200 or was he just having a bad performance?

It just seems like he overplayed his hand and it backfired. Trying to get special treatment, then pretending to retire hoping they will bite. Meanwhile the UFC is pretty much not saying shit other than the fight is off while Conor tweets a few desperate things hoping there will be some kind of huge fan uproar to make the UFC cave.
When you're fighting Nate Diaz and you're the one who's not showing up to the press conferences instead of him there's a problem lol
Had he beat Nate the first time and was still riding the unstoppable hype train maybe his antics would have worked

I feel bad in a way, as he has some actual grievances about doing a ridiculous amount of press yet is still expected to be the best fighter in the world. Ronda went through the same thing, and she's been watching this closely as she has the exact same issues.
Unfortunately for both of them, it doesn't look like Fertitta is going to budge on it at all.
At the same time, he couldn't possibly have handled this any worse. I can't stand the way MMA fans react to a fighter when they 'lose face' in a fight, but when they say something stupid, they kind of deserve the backlash. He became the boy who cried wolf, and it's not even funny in a Chael way, it just came across as pathetic.

the thing to remember about this is it isnt the best fighter in the world doing it. its the guy with the best mouth. the guy who can cut the best promos. and what hes doing is not wanting to be part of the promos.
