every damn time you post something and i see it ,i stare at your avatar.

for the most part my $35 ebay cam has been working good enough. i'd be pretty upset if i paid $200+ and it crapped out on me

shame some of you are so quick to fire away before the business in question even has a chance to respond, either in here or to the OP

i have no opinion or side in this at all, but shit - what happened to innocent until proven guilty nowadays?

Both sides have a valid point, he hasn't responded in weeks so that's a bit sketchy, but still he HASN'T responded. Perhaps he'll be 100% willing to replace all. IDK.

To be fair, I haven't had the typical hazy footage issue. Mine stems from the fact that it seems to reboot every five or so minutes, regardless of how many different types of miniSD cards I use and how often I format them.

TF2+ is awesome. I've dropped it who knows how many times accidentally, sometimes pretty hard and it still works perfectly.

Standard business procedure is 24 hr response, not a fix, but just a "I've received your email and will respond fully within 3 days as I am currently away on business with limited email access"

We're not being unfair here when we say he isn't showcasing good, or even adequate customer service

EmperorIS 10-22-2013 05:57 PM

The 400 had overheating issue and was quickly replaced by the 400II.

Do you people not research on the vendor you pay $300 to? He was just some dude working out of his bedroom with stocks of dashcams.... I'm surpurised you guys are surprised his response are flakey. I once asked him for a quote and the way he replied to me told me to stay away from this guy.

Wait I think you guys got this wrong - I personally have every expectation that my unit be replaced under warranty. There's no if or buts in this, I bought the product with a 1 year warranty and within that period the product has failed. The reason for this thread is to look for advice in reaching them and based on some replies, I'm not the only one thats having trouble with that. I am personally very dissapointed at their customer service and am still waiting on them to provide a reply to see how we can remedy the issue.

I bought this pretty early on when he was still one of the few if not the sole vendor on RS that had dashcams. Regardless, reviews on here were great about him and I had great confidence on all RS vendors

nabs 10-22-2013 10:36 PM

Hmm... I haven't checked mine in a few months, maybe I should take a look at it.

4444 10-22-2013 10:36 PM

Can u go direct t manufacturer for warranty resolution?

Our issue is that u may never hear from the dude again

Harvey Specter 10-22-2013 11:03 PM

Sucks to hear about a site vendor flaking out and ASR seem like a decent vendor, I remember the owner always posting and helping out members. Hopefully there's a valid reason why he hasn't responded and the guys who need warranty work done get everything resolved if this vendor decides to come back.

^lol just because he is on a business trip, doesn't mean that he is restricted from doing what he wants on his free time. But i doubt hes actually on a business trip. Probably just vacation lol

jing 10-23-2013 12:03 AM

I've been able to contact him and was able to get a warranty exchange on a product through a third party who I assume is his good friend. Keep trying guys.

The manufacturer, in Korea, is sketchy as well. I tried discussing with them about importing in the past since there was such interest on RS, before ASR picked them up, and I decided to stay away even made a note about it on RS iirc.

Thanks guys!

There are other vendors on RS that carry dashcams. Some of them have been around for a long time and are very reputable. Some of them are very supportive of our little community called Revscene. They are very active at RS sponsored events.

extracrunchie 10-23-2013 02:14 PM

Dealing with the authorized user is direct replacement? no?

icemiko 10-23-2013 02:49 PM

Seems like he's installing dash cams in China, from that Instagram link.

And how does this affect his Canadian customers? You can't just ignore them, unless he plans to stay in china... Maybe that's what's happening

Euro7r 10-23-2013 05:33 PM

I've dealt with ASR when I got my Finevu dashcam during the summer. English is not his first language; therefore, we should give him the benefit of the doubt in that regards? We may get a different perception based on the tone conveyed in his messages, but I don't believe he has any negative intent.

However, in regards to the OP. I agree with you guys that, for him to not respond to inquires affects his accountability and business reputation.

iamed 10-23-2013 06:12 PM

Quick Update - followed the advice of one of the members on here and was able to reach him after posting a message on his instagram. Ive been sent instructions to pack up my dashcam and since Blackvue requires the cigar lighter cable (power) to be included in the exchange (mines hardwared in my car), I asked if I may borrow a set and he was helpful in connecting me to a friend which can lend me one.

Thanks fellow RSers, just crossing my fingers this "new"/fixed Blackvue will not act up in a year..

4444 10-23-2013 06:23 PM

Great that this is being finally dealt with, but this kid should know how badly this thread has hurt his reputation (due to his actions)

Business is all about a great product and great customer service - both have been shown to be in question here

lemon4 10-23-2013 06:47 PM

you're right about the reputation being ruined. I have two co-workers who bought dashcams from ASR and I would be looking to buy one before the snowfall from ASR. But due to this thread, I would be looking other vendors:)
