It's great to hear he's taking care of it, but i have a sneaking suspicion his dash cam business won't be what it used to be IF he comes back to Vancouver... Ignoring your customers for two weeks is no way to run a business.

Cman333 10-26-2013 03:39 PM

I've installed quite a few of these. All of them have had overheating issues.

Considering how popular these were, I'm surprised at the poor quality control of the product.

meme405 10-26-2013 11:52 PM

Anyone looking for a blackvue, I bought mine from Soundsgood. Was a smooth and pleasant transaction, and they have a brick and mortar facility. They are not some kid selling cameras in his spare time.

dared3vil0 10-26-2013 11:57 PM

Sneaking suspicion he's in China for good at this point...

^^ lol...that's hilarious... come on ASR/Will ..respond to this thread.

in any case, as stated earlier ... my DR380G still going strong and its been over a year now anyways so if it craps out... it'd be a case of 'tough shit' for me.

But over a year now and not one speck of dust in the lens. Never had to clean it.

You know FB is blocked in China right? Unless he has a VPN he may not have access to those messages.

No doubt this is my fault. I sincerely apologized to you guys that I did miss this thread since I barely log on fb with VPN. I will log on RS one day once later on to catch up the aftersales service for Canadian customers.
Iamed contact me through fb and I got the information from there. I replied with my wechat account number and get the warranty done through Email. The best way to reach us is sending email. Iamed got his dashcam fixed already from the manufacture. I will check the forum 1 day once later on. So please PM me if you camera need to fix.

Iamed has been gone through these steps by himself.

Hi, William.
4 possibilities from this case

1. fuse burnt out
2. cigar charger is broken down.
3. Power Magic Pro might need a reset. Unplug the harness and plug back in.
4. camera is something wrong.

Let's start from the easiest step.

Using any cigar charger to test if the car cigar charger socket works properly or not. If you can charge your phone through that socket, then it means the cigar socket fuse working fine. If the cigar outlet can not supply any power to charge your cellphone or other devices, then go to step 2 to see both fuses on fuse adaptors works well or not. You should not be that lucky tho.

1. If the cigar charger outlet working well, then please go to my buddy's place to get a new cigar charger for your Blackvue. I pm'd you his number already. Plugging in the new charger to the cigar socket to test the camera is doing well or not. If that works, then the old cigar charger is gone.

2. If that way does not help, please check the fuse from the fusebox which is under the rear left/right floor mat. Unplugging the fuse adaptor to see the right side fuse is broken or not. If it is, swapping in a 2-3A fuse.

3. If the fuse seems fine, then unplug the power magic pro harness and plug back in. Start the car to see if it works well. Also please read the power magic pro manual to set the timer to any time you prefer. But do that when the ignition is off.

4. If 1-3 all not working well, then follow these steps to get the manufacture warranty done.

The warranty is free within a year. Valid date start from the receipt date.

1. Please sending an email to Blackvue Sales Manager Joey Won and telling him what is the issue of your camera.
his email is Wonyi@pittasoft.com and copy one to our email s23union@hotmail.com

2. pack up everything from original box with ASR receipt with serial number(very important).

3. Drop off the parcel to TNT express depot close to YVR.

VICO wf1 use Amberella A5 chip which is same as go pro hero 2. It made by a f2.2 6 pieces glass lens. If you have a 4 core cellphone or tablet, the wifi runs like a rocket.
To be honest, the night time quality needs to improve a little bit more.
I am using vico wf1 for almost a year. It runs fine and it can turn off automatically when the operating temperature up to 70°c

dared3vil0 12-02-2013 08:22 PM

ASR, are you still running asr.ca?... Went on your website to see what pricing was like for blackvue:

ASR Canada - Dash Camera| Vicovation | Otosaver

Website is essentially gone. Been on this "trip" for months.

inv4zn 12-03-2013 09:47 PM

^Two other vendors have been actively advertising the Blackvue cameras.

But you probably already knew that, and have no actual interest in getting blackvues, and are just trying to prove some twisted agenda.

dared3vil0 12-03-2013 09:50 PM

Actually i've been looking on and off for over a year now, ASR quoted me a good price when i said something along the lines of "I need a dashcam... ASR Blackvue group buy :fullofwin:" and i was going to get myself one, and was going to get my parents one for Christmas... No twisted agenda here...

inv4zn 12-03-2013 09:52 PM

If that's really the case, then I apologize for my snideness. However, he has been on this trip for a while as you said, and if you really want them both speed syndicate and soundsgood offer these as well as alternatives.

You really should get some regardless of who is selling, as it's essentially essential now-a-days.

dared3vil0 12-03-2013 09:54 PM

It's all good, and there honestly was no agenda or anything, I wouldn't gain anything from tarnishing Will's reputation other than not a good deal on a dash cam... Anyway, i know i need to get one. :okay:

DaJo 01-06-2014 05:36 PM

Tried contacting him today regarding a BlackVue problem. His phone is not on. :(

Acura604 01-13-2014 01:12 PM

on another note, how easy or hard would it be to disconnect a hardwired install of a 380 with the power magic? I know it involves removing some panels and stuff to get to the wiring but at the fusebox, can I simply just pull out the 'add a fuse' or whatever was used?
