I may have a biased view, but I actually like the look of the 1 series better...

Small, RWD, turbo, 6 speed manual?! And no headlights connected to the kidneys either?

Can't say I'm a fan. The 1-Series has become in my mind, one of those timeless and uniquely original cars that simply can't be replaced.

If this is under 40k i'm VERY interested...

BMW is like the car version of Apple. Make it and people will find an excuse to buy it.

I like this better than both the 1 and the 3 series coupe. IIRC BMW said they wanted to make a car closer to the roots of the early 3 series not the bloated version it is these days.

hopefully they'll do a full blown M2

Wish it had a sweet NA I6 powerplant rather than crappy forced-induction.

My last car was a 135i and I felt that the engine was the worst part of the entire package

why wats wrong with the engine?

^whys that? The n54, despite the hpfp issues, should be a pretty potent engine. Last time I drove one, felt quite smooth. Why didn't you like it?

135 engine is pretty nice.... inline 6 twin turbo, how can you complain

driven 335/135i on numerous occasions and i didnt find anything wrong with the engine

Peak torque rpm was too low for him

Stock the motor was just uber-boring

I leased the car because I loved the look and I wanted to know what owning a new BMW was like. The car couldn't chirp the tires into second after a few months of owning it and everything about the car was pretty numb. The e-diff sucks.

Having said that, I loved the interior, seats, stereo, brakes, looks, handling, and ride.

Worst parts were the engine and a close second, the diff.

The stock N54 has no top end either, the power dies right at 5500 RPM.

Ummm...isn't this thing just a 1 series coupe, in the same way that the 4 series is just a 3 series coupe?

I find that the N54 is a really good engine. Silky smooth power delivery throughout the rev range. And the potential for massive power is really appealing too.

I guarantee that it wont even be close to that. I'd guess 55k
Also I wonder when they are going to release the gran coupe, touring, minivan convertible, convertible 4 door, hatchback, convertible coupe, and GT hatchback crossover version of it.
