Holy fuck... Just watching Fast 5... There's a scene (VERY MINOR SPOILERS)

in the car thefts on the train where Paul Walker (Brian O'Connor) is a passenger in a vehicle which crashes, a fire starts while gasoline is spraying everywhere and he almost dies... Wow... Bit scary.

you guys probably heard about the jewelry store thing already. found this in the comments of one of the news sites

Quote:

Paul Walker's kind gesture at the jewelry store doesn't surprise me. With his passing, I am reminded of the kindness and sincerity that I witnessed from him. I once saw Paul at a car wash near my hometown (and no he wasn't driving a tricked out car). As I waited for my car, he sat down on the bench across from me, right next to a boy and his mother. The boy was dressed in little league gear. I couldn't help but notice how genuinely interested Paul seemed as he asked the boy how his game went and what position he played. The kid told him he wasn't very good though and Paul immediately began to encourage him by telling him to keep practicing and that he'll get better and better each day. When Paul's car was ready, he said goodbye to the mother and her son and they smiled back.

I haven't told many people this story because it didn't seem like a big deal at the time. But with Paul's passing, it seems right to share it. Celebrity or not, how often do we have this kind of wonderful interaction with a stranger or even a neighbor for that matter. Paul's acts of kindness serve as a great reminder to us all.

Paul you will be deeply missed. May you rest in peace.

Meh. Either way, she was looking for attention by trying to shock the public. If the public hates her for it, I can't say she didn't bring it on herself.

I love how her site is trying to spin it as she's the victim here. OH NOES POOR YOU, some bullies on the Interwebs said mean things to you. That seems so much worse than dying in a speeding fireball.

And who only brought ONE NOS bottle? He said he needed two of them and Harry, he needs them by tonight.

I remember being a 13 year old kid when the original Fast movie came out. From then on I knew i wanted to be involved in the auto world. Making mistakes in the past on the streets and now competing in Auto cross, building my own project from a stock car and helping friends, going to meets and helping random people whos cars have broken down. The hundreds of happy memories I've had because of the influence Paul and the other cast members placed on me as a kid are things I'd never know other wise. This is why I'll be there on Saturday. I can't say I knew him at all but I'm sure more then a few of us going feel as though we've lost a friend.

posted this on the facebook wall to, hope everyone arrives and gets home safely.

hard to have a car movie without a car blowing up.

did anyone remember the conversation with Vin about his dad being burned alive in a car wreck?

EDIT: in the first movie. scene in the garage with the Charger.

death by fire unfortunately is a common theme... remember when they tried to kill letty? her car blew up and burned up so badly they assumed she was inside because they didn't find a body.

and then there was han in the rx7...:okay:

it's going to be tough for them to figure out what to do with this unfinished movie.

theres a video circling around that shows paul flailing his arms attempting to escape the burning vehicle and autopsy shows he survived the impact, but died from physical injuries AND thermal... means he was burned alive. very sad to hear this

This news still hurts, just trying to find out updates about the whole story. Found an interview with his manager. It says he wasn't in Tokyo Drift because his grandfather was sick. Turned down all that money to be with his family. I don't think we will ever find another guy as genuine as Paul.

Any link? I'm asking because I hope that wasn't the case and it's just a hoax video :(

The only people who knew whether paul struggled are the people who arrived at the scene first. They probably saw what happened like these guys.

I get it the first responders don't wanna risk their lives cuz the car was on fire and it might explode any time. But I remember a while back was it in China or Vancouver? a car was on fire, a guy was stuck between the car and the ground. All the bystanders went and flipped the car over and saved the guy.

jepho 12-05-2013 03:13 PM

reading all these stories about his generosity, putting family/friends before money etc and keeping it all on the down low and staying out of the spot light just makes it sadder and sadder.
truly an unselfish man..lost

I'm hoping/thinking he was unconscious. if you look at the surveillance video before the car caught fire it was just smoking a lot. i would think if he could have gotten out then, he would have. unless god forbid he was pinned in. :(

Difference is they had a chance to save that guy. No one was making it out of that Carrera GT alive at that point.

Yea that's the point. But in the case when the guy was stuck between the car and the ground, the bystanders didn't have to touch the fire, the fire was in the engine. In this case, the fire is inside the car, who's got enough balls to put their hands inside the fire to drag paul out of the car?

If people had enough guts in the first 60 seconds when there were only smoke, he could be dragged out. But it is an easy thing to say after it happened, I'm afraid to say most of people including myself probably think the situation is too dangerous to get involved if I were placed at that moment at the time.
