Wheres a good place to purchase tires locally?

anyone know of a good place to purchase tires locally? just looking for a basic, run of the mill Michelin Defender tires. a friend of mine told me to check out 1010tires but their prices were the same as the price I was quoted at Toyota.

any other places that might have a better deal on Michelin Defender's?

TIA

Nothing local really... Try Costco. Best prices are down south without a question.

yea 1010tires.com or costco is probably the cheapest for Michelin defender locally. If you really wanna save money, you should go to discount tire at bellingham. What size are you running? how much were you quoted for? I can probably determine if it's a good price since I just purchased 4 defenders a month ago.

edit: dared3vil0 beat me.

If you are buying locally, then Costco or Crappy Tire when Michelin has the $70 off promotion.

I bought the Defender tires for my CRV from Costco. With $70 off, it was almost the same price as buying from Tirerack @ regular price and shipping it over to my home, plus taxes/duties.

they quoted me $678 + $80 mounting & balance + $8 shop supplies = $766 installed and they tacked on "Advance Disposal Fee - Provincial Tire Levy" $20, GST/PST. Total comes to $880.32 after everything

i'm running 215/60R16

I'm running on a smaller size, bellingham discount tire quoted me $550, 1010tires quoted me $730, $180 differences. My local dealership was running a promotion in November so I got lucky, I got 20% off the tires alone, a $70 instant rebate from the dealership, and also another $70 mail-in rebate to Michelin. The final price was exactly the same as in the states, so I didn't have to cross the border.

In your case, I think a trip to bellingham is totally worth it. Out the door price from discount tire is $650 vs $880. $230 difference. Keep in mind you will mostly need to pay tax on the tires crossing border.

Volco tires is a good honest shop to deal with. Their prices may not beat out others but it will be damn close.

But regardless of what price you get up here heading down south would net you a much better deal, I'm not talking like a couple bucks either, I legit saved $600 going 20 min over the border.

Shopping Cart Expired - Discount Tire
I agree with the Bellingham part but I don't think I'll be heading down to the States anytime soon.

I dunno what fees Costco has but if it's $157.99 * 4 + $20 Tire Levy + $60(tire balancing) * 13% = $804.51

which is cheaper than Toyota by about $80. any benefits of changing the tire at a Toyota dealership vs. costco?

Nope. IIRC, Costco also has free road hazard warranty.

Pretty good price you found them at. Just checked a few US locations and they're basically same price.

Also check out National Tire Wholesale in Delta. But yeah, if you have the time, get them from the US.

24-7 Parcel in Blaine, WA makes it easier to pick up items in the middle of the night.... no border lineups and the gas stations are open 24-7 as well.

I bought tires online from California, shipped to Blaine and picked them up at 2am from 24-7. They were 33" truck tires. Also saved about $40 fueling up.
