Why is China third world country? Okay, is it just me? Canada is first world country, but why is China considered as a third world country? I mean, look.. what kind of third world country is this???? :fulloffuck: http://johnrrogers.com/nwp/wp-conten...i-174-Edit.jpg http://www.bizjetadvisor.com/wp-cont...ty-skyline.jpg http://superjchung.files.wordpress.c...wers0024pi.jpg http://www.freeyou.cn/Avtars/Scenic/...337aec2c2d.jpg http://www.kingdomsg.com/files/9512/...ngzhou%201.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ong,_China.jpg http://www.woodsbagot.com/wp-content...y_N19_1920.jpg http://cache.marriott.com/propertyim...ajw_home01.jpg http://paradiseintheworld.com/wp-con...1/shanghai.jpg |
Maybe it's because that's only 1% of China and the other 99% is fucked? Haha. Good question Posted via RS Mobile |
China is a second-world country and you clearly have no idea what first-, second-, and third-world country mean. First-world countries were allied with NATO during the cold war. Second-world countries were allied with the USSR during the cold war. Third-world countries were not allied with either group during the cold war. |
^ what I would conclude too lol, there's a grading and china prob failed on it because of its vast land/high population Posted via RS Mobile |
http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworl..._countries.htm those first world definitions are defined by the people that consider themselves first world lol. aka the cool kids decided that they're cool. it basically means which team you're on. |
after I read the title, I knew right at once this was a Timpo thread |
I maybe solipsistic but China still needs an underwriter. |
You should look at the smaller cities as opposed to big cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shenzhen, Dalian and Wenzhou etc etc. |
Thanks given for nice pics.. |
What about Dong Guan? That's a paradise city... Posted via RS Mobile |
there should be a brown haze in those pictures |
A lot of people get confused by this because of those memes that says "first world problems". |
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ong,_China.jpg Hong Kong is considered as second world? Hyde would be pissed |

And to answer the OP's idiotic question (not sure why it would even be worth the bother). Third World used to mean that it was neither first world (democracy) or second world (communist, which China is part of). However now it means developing country (where the majority of citizens extremely poor) Because the vast majority of China's citizens are among the poorest people on the planet, it's considered a "third world" or "developing" country. |

If there's one positive thing,,,rumor has it China has spent a considerable amount of money on Thorium nuclear reactors (for energy). Thorium has been proven to be cost effective and much safer. Norway is testing one out now. |
it's cuz china takes care of what is important first... I think they're prioritizing economic stability over human life, because what's the point of human life, if you don't have a stable economy? I should have said, what is "actually" important objectively. i think we're laughing now, but they're not brutes.. they'll catch up fast and probably exceed us in, almost all aspects. as technology develops that can clean up pollution and help them pump out more energy, more efficiently, we'll be left behind. technology will fix all their problems, and none of ours. I'm sure they'll find their old chinese culture again. give them another 50-100 years. |
First world countries = US & Allies (japan, south korea, west europe, etc etc) As For the rest of the states which did not buy into the US Democracy propaganda (following end of WWII) needless to say were clumped into 2nd & 3rd world countries. |

North America/Europe would never allow the way factories in China handle their manufacturing processes. Its not so much that technology that will solve their pollution crisis (that's just wishful thinking), the factories just need to abide by processes that don't pollute the environment. |
lol Timpo... first, second and third world doesnt mean how much money they have... someone clearly needs to go back to school |
 Timpo, you should be classified as a third class citizen. I'm not joking either |
