not sure about their Honda/Japanese vehicle skillset, but Stan's Transmissions in Vancouver is great. They are mainly a European vehicle transmission specialist, and European car dealers all sublet their transmission work to them.

I used Wilf's Transmissions in Vancouver years ago when I needed to sublet out trans work due to various reasons. Had good success with them. Not sure if anything has changed since then.

Do they actually only last this long?

^ They will last between 0.1km and 250,000+km. Sorry dude, but there is NO accurate way to guesstimate how long a transmission will last.

BOSS Automotive in Richmond, they know what they are doing.

Mr Transmission in NVan I'd avoid. But it was probably me just with a bad experience considering they've been around for years.

There autos suck, thats why I will never own an auto Honda, just to much cost of ownership for a car that is designed to be cheaper to own.

Most FWD autos are heading in this direction as they keep trying to make things smaller and more compact.
You are completely right. As an ex-5th gen Prelude owner....transmission on it went twice It was the worst experience ever. Since then I've been so paranoid of transmission problems to a point that I freak out when my pathfinder shifts rough.

I hear to stay away from the 01-06 TL's too. Up to the 03's for sure and the higher ones I believe had a recall. *citation needed*

I cant stress it enough... research the shit out of the car you are planning on buying. Dealing with a dropped tranny sucks fat tranny balls.
