Always wondered what the point of having HID fogs were...aren't fog lights supposed to be low powered so that you can actually see in the fog instead of scattering light everywhere? :fulloffuck:

I run HID fogs, it is mostly so that the light output matches my factory HID headlights in terms of colour. But the increased light output is nice to have when you are driving HWY's and back roads outside of the city.

Why is HID fogs so upsetting to people in here? They do not blind anyone as they are low to the ground and angled well below oncoming motorists. The only HID's which are frustrating are people jamming them into regular projectors and not making sure to adjust them accordingly so that they aren't blinding everyone.

EDIT: oh and I forgot, fogs are not supposed to be low powered per say, the main idea is to put the light output close to the ground and light up the ground near the car, instead of lighting all the snow or fog in front of the car. Truth be told yes the way you explain it would make sense, but because there is no car that turns the headlights off when the fog lights come on.

Those glorious days of Need For Speed are gone unfortunately. I stopped buying/playing NFS after the HP 2.

NFS absolutely fucking blows now.

If Underground 2 had a damage model and a better story, it would be a timeless classic.

Fuck we need a new street racing game set in like the late 90's.

I remember the revscene before points and thanks buttons. :nicethread:

I don't remember too much about video games because I was out cruising in my DA integra with TSW rims, short ram intake, fart can and limo tint on a car slammed so low I developed a phobia for driveways. Girls would have to see a chiropractor after I cruise by because my ride makes their head spin. na'h mean?!

I don't have pics... just memories. :QQ:

Does anyone remember when Revscene used to be call Vancouver Imports? Anyone still on from that far back?

Damn, that was like 14 years ago.

Then the Import Classifieds vs. Revscene wars.

The infamous porno password thread. :D

FML I want to be 19 again. Used to have a car meet every weekend lol

Now RS is pretty huge. Definitely changed alot but still a great forum. Kudos to Jace, Colin, Shoei for still keeping this site running after ALLLLLLLLLLLLL these years.

Sorry for Timpo like vid spam but there can be no nod to the NFS franchise without the nod to the original. Back when EA was Electronic Arts, back when Road & Track was popular, back when FMV was huge in video games.

The street scene has definitely changed but cars in general have changed a lot in a short time.

I'm modifying a 98 Buick Regal because I wanted one when I was 19 (back in 2000). Cheap to pick up, cheap to modify, easy to modify and cops leave you alone. Cars of the 90s definitely have quirks but that's what made them so appealing.

Cars nowadays just all look the same. I guess it can't be helped with stricter emissions and safety standards. I love working on the older cars.

I had NFS 2 and 3: Hot Pursuit. Back then I thought "the graphics can't get any better than this." I learned how to drive on those games with a steering wheel, it was nirvana.

We should do a modern Rev-off. I mean as long as its not some impromptu thing, there are good rules in place, people abide by said rules, and its in a relatively secluded location...Why not?

Most people seem to like revving their cars anyways, and maybe this outlet would prevent people from doing it at other meets.

We could do the classic layout, two people line up, rev one by one, then the car that gets the most cheers lines up against the next contender.

INB4 new antilag proliferation on vancouver cars in order to win revscene rev off.

It's easy to tell who are actually using it for visibility. Anyone using a color temp north of 4300k is using it for looks in their Mazda 3s and their Siennas.

Uhh there are 5000k bulbs which are 200 or 300 lumens brighter than the oem bulbs. Also just because I run 6k bulbs I'm doing it only for looks?

Blanket statements really never wwork in your favor..

I run 6K on my low beams because I accidentally clicked the wrong option on the website :okay:

But I run 3k in my fogs and they are very useful when I need them. Keep in mind that I don't turn them on at 2pm on a sunny day.

I never cared for excessive LEDs to be honest. I used to like the LED stripes but now I think they look like tear drops

Yeah I think optimal is 5K headlights and 3K fogs (JDM maddddd yooo).

I ordered a new set of 5K Osram CBI's and a set of Morimoto 3K bulbs for my fogs. they have been sitting in blaine waiting for me to go pick them up for ages.

Ikkaku 01-25-2014 01:21 AM

In my experience, 6000K bulbs are much easier to obtain than 4300K, at least with certain local vendors in the cheaper spectrum.

Minnam Racing.....haven't heard that name in a while! I still remember their old shop in East Vancouver on Kingsway near the Safeway 20 years ago.
