Just played my first match on the beta and all I can say is holy fuck

Like really, that's all I can say... Half the time I had no idea what was going on

To be fair, I haven't played a multiplayer shooter regularly since I moved to Hong Kong probably.. so 7 years now? I may have played occasionally at my old place when I had good internet, but even then, probably not much.

So the last game I played regularly was Battlefield 2, in 2006 or so. I completely missed out on the genre since then, and this is supposed to be the 'next step forward' from all that I had missed

I will say that it plays really well, and I will definitely play it some more...

See if you can get into the beta and maybe we can get some matches going. It might have helped that I am in a country where probably not many people have signed up for the beta, I'm not sure. Maybe they are just accepting a ton of people before the game comes out.

I will also be streaming it on my twitch channel later if you want to check it out. For now I have some errands to run

At the end of the match, you can run to an extraction point and escape to earn some extra XP. It was on the top of a building, and like NOTHING I wall-ran around a corner, did some double jumps, and got up there. It was my FIRST MATCH and it was so natural to navigate to the building. That was pretty amazing.

looks pretty underwhelming so far

CoD with parkour/mechs on source engine...and 6v6 only
at least it has dedicated servers unlike that POS MW2
and visuals are not bad maxed out on PC

looks cool, but it's a bit too messy gameplay for me. i'm old, my eyes can't keep up with leaping soldiers with booster jets.

never played this, will check it out. I'm quite interested in Wildstar though

Sometimes it just "clicks" and goes beyond what you'd ever expect from a shooter. Other times, it's just a shooter

Toss an arc grenade, this blinds the titans

Jump on his back, shoot him to death

Bail out and jump on the next titan

My titan is up, so summon it

Kill titan while he's fighting mine in auto mode

Get into my titan, and start kicking ass again

can you still get beta key now?

If you manage to sneak up on someone, it's a guaranteed kill. If they spot you, and they are a good shot, they can take you before your pistol homes in on the 3 shots required for a kill

I guess it's good if you're playing with lag

Hows playing against AI?

AI is only there to build up your score, they are all but harmless. Like "creeps" in a MOBA game.

But it's good they're there for people who are new or not very good, as they can still make a pretty big difference in whether your team wins or loses.

^ya thats what i figured the reason they added the AI bots.. its a good way to increase their install base

having one player dominating everyone else with 30+ kill streaks in CoD is what killing the community.. imagine how frustrating it is for other players who jus trying to play the game for fun as oppose to those who does it for bragging rights on youtube

I never understood this, why didn't Cod just form games based on ranks with a +10/-10 range or something like the way they do NHL14 games online?

i believe the closest cod had to ranked matches were...

still didn't really help when you fight a clan of guys who know what they're doing.

to be honest, i think it's cod's annual release is killing the game. players are scattered across mw1,2,3,ghost + blackops1,2. when i first started playing mw2 and blops1, there were between 300-600k people online at any given time. now, you'll probably find just under 100k per title.

activision's doing 3 year releases now, likely rotating between what's left of infinity ward, treyarc, and now sledgehammer games. cod is gg unless they go mmo.. which is where destiny comes in.

the mechs add in a different element for sure

I love to "rodeo" mechs but quite often you don't get credit for the kill, since someone else usually gets the finishing shot

Can't wait for this....don't know whether to go with PC or console....

seems most people buy console versions....running out of people to PC game with :S

I can still never play an FPS with a controller... Maybe the Valve controller would allow me to, but I'd have to try it first

lol.. watching the giantbomb gameplay, gertzman tried to play it on pc with an xbox controller and there is aim assist

played for few hours, level 10

game is really face pace and much cod like
map isn't that big, round are quite short
the mechs are a change from your typical run and gun shooters

overall very fun for a casual shooter

most likely gonna to pass, cause EA
