If something happens to my Jeep I want an older YJ or a Tacoma, the Prelude/GTS would result in an IS300 most likely, but mayyyyybe a 370Z.

The car had about 70bhp or something. It was awesome. I hope/plan to do any modern engine swap, heck even a Corolla engine swap, and it will be a HUGE bump in power.
Since those run an A series engine (if Wikipedia is correct) then I believe a 4AGE/4AGZE should bolt in. If you want to get creative I'd vote 3SGTE swap (should only be minor engine mount changes to bolt in if a 4A bolts in), or if you wanna go modern and NA maybe a 1MZ/3MZ V6 out of a Camry, either option will get you at least triple the stock HP

There was a fellow at one of the summer meets (I think 2012) who had a really nicely done Tercel with a 4AGE swap. It was really nice!

Yea, I have really fond memories of that car. It was my parent's work car, and we had it since new (1986) until about 2003 when I sold it before I moved to California. It was the standard FWD version, but I hear that the 4WD one is very good.

It could carry practically everything, and it was very reliable. It just lacked power. I looked for one a few years ago, but I got my 2nd IS instead. As mentioned, ANY stock modern day engine will at least double the HP, so it can finally go up hills with decent speed. (I lived near 1st Ave + Renfrew, so when driving up Renfrew from Broadway, the car couldn't even break 55kph even when I was flooring it, no joke I stayed in the right hand lane, always )

I'm paying about $157 per month with full discount

1 Million Liability
1000 Collision
300 comprehensive

Driving to work more than 15KM

Can't imagine the price with 300 Collision

EDIT: My car is a 2004 Subaru WRX

I thought $192 for my MR2 ($500 collision/comprehensive, 1mill liability, under 15km to work, 25% discount) was expensive

Even for my RSX with 1000 collision deductible it's like $246 a month with 10% discount. For a FWD car with 200hp it kinda sucks paying that much but oh well, it is what it is.

that's the price to pay for a 2-door car that's popular and accessible to the younger crowd
in many cases it's cheaper to insure a s2000 than it is to insure a Si or Type-S
