Just a nice request, don't mean to sound rude or anything, if you are going to start a new thread about a certain topic relating to a link, PLEAAASSE try to include at least a picture or two or a quote from the article in your original post, and not just a link.

Just a friendly request.

This is more "No Need to Start A New Thread" material

v_tec 02-23-2014 09:04 PM

#tooyoung to have encountered any of these toys :D

ae101 02-23-2014 09:13 PM

im born in 89 & i remember most of these toys cuz my cousins & family friends had these toys, they just pass them on to me after they got older (& i was 3yr old)

i envy them for getting so many mcd toys as a kid

quasi 02-24-2014 06:48 AM

I was born mid 70's and didn't think I'd remember any of them but surprisingly a bunch of them do look familiar. We didn't go to McDonalds much when I was growing up but I've more then made up for it later and continue to do so. I don't let my kid have the toys though, he doesn't even ask anymore. He plays with it for like 30 seconds then it ends up on the floor in his toy room so no more......

Was so excited to get Odie @ McDs back in the day...
Remember how the McDs on kingsway/victoria looked in 80s?

Pull back cars, Stompers and Duck Tales; I remember those ones vividly. I was a Duck Tales fanatic in the 80's.

shenmecar 02-24-2014 09:47 AM

thirty years from now, people will say that the Despicable Me minions were the best McDonald's toy of all time.

heck, we even have a 14 page thread about it: http://www.revscene.net/forums/68617...ollection.html

Hang on to them. Unopened toys in about 30 years will be collectibles. I've got a few collections going, too.

Not happy meal toys, but those NHL hockey sticks, helmets, and limited edition Upper Deck cards were cool.

Was the Silver Surfer pewter figure part of the Happy Meal?

Also, those Halloween buckets were pretty sturdy. I still have them from when my kids used them for trick or treating, LOL.

european 02-24-2014 10:19 AM

Dang. I had that Garfield in the blue jeep. The only other McD toy's that I remember are the Super Mario toys. I think they were 89-90 though? It was Mario, Luigi, koopa troopa and goomba.

heleu 02-24-2014 10:32 AM

Wow, I recognize so many of these. I think my parents took me to McDonald's at least once a week as a kid...I can't even remember when the last time I went as an adult.

TouringTeg 02-24-2014 04:01 PM

I remember so many of those (born in 1980). I expected Lego to be on the list though!

#1 better be Muppet Babies

Followed by Garfield, and then Fraggle Rock...

Edit: Changeables? Did we get those in Canada?

Edit 2: I take it back. THESE WERE THE BEST

http://s3-ec.buzzfed.com/static/2014...92856351-1.jpg

Edit 3: OMG ASTROSNIKS! THAT"S WHAT THEY'RE CALLED!

I kept picturing these things in my head, but could never remember what they were called. We had the space ship and a bunch of the characters

heleu 02-25-2014 07:44 AM

Yeah, they had way better toys in HK. My wife has a collection (e.g. Hello Kitty stuffed toys) and they look like toys you get from Toys R US or something.

carisear 02-25-2014 07:52 AM

Oh man, muppet babies, lego, and those mcdonalds characters in race cars were *THE BEST* by far!!! i loved those growing up!

StylinRed 02-25-2014 08:24 AM

I remember there being some lame ass transformer like toys but not the ones shown, maybe I'm just not remembering correctly

spoon.ek9 02-25-2014 09:20 AM

+1 for Odie! I loved Garfield as a kid but Odie was always adorable haha... maybe that's part of why I love dogs so much :D

and damn... this thread makes me feel old.
