Home Alarm Battery

Anyone know a good place to get replacement home alarm batteries for the control/panel box? My door chime keeps beeping every so often out of no where, my family friend said it's the battery is done.

Get out the manual and see what is causing the beeping. It's most likely the battery, but it could be other things.

Look for the trouble light and press whatever key to activate the diagnostics.

You can temporarily turn the beeping off (bypass).

All this is in the manual. If no manual, look up model number and find pdf on Internet.

What make/model alarm is it? An intermittent beeping could mean a number of things.

Most standard panels use a small (probably 4 or 5Ah) 12V lead-acid "gel cell" battery; if you or someone you know has a wholesale account at a place like Tri-Ed or ADI, they can be had for around $8. Retail they'll run about $25-$30.

Snipping the wires to battery, or removing the battery, won't help - that will just make the beeping more insistent.

My zone 1 light lit red on but doors/windows is closed and the ac light is lit yellow.

What alarm is it? Look on the circuit board in the can, see if there's a model number on it.

Yeah, when you press the TRBL or TBL button, LED 1 lighting up indicates no/low battery. a 4Ah battery is recommended for that alarm, BTW.

Thanks!! The original battery is 1.2AH. Should I stick with that?

Should only need one, but if you're getting a low battery alert, they're probably both toast. Go for a 4 or 5... gives longer run-time when the power is off. Two 1.2s totals up to only 2.4Ah... so a 5Ah will be twice that capacity.
