The issue returned, only this time, he took it to the Ford dealer in Langley (Dams?) where upon inspecting the work West Coast did to the sunroof, they actually took pictures to send to head office because the work was so bad.

They ended up replacing the sunroof assembly entirely, problem solved after ONE visit.

Ever since then he's taken the truck to Dams, and been super happy.

That's a pretty common water leak area. and unfortunately the sat antennea and sunroof slider assembly both leak into the passenger side grab handle, making it hard to figure out which one is leaking. The antennea gets done first because it takes ten minutes to do and the sunroof is really involved. They should have realized it was still leaking though lol.

the welding doesn't make any sense, because it's plastic, but the caulking is the recommended fix and works 90% of the time. I've only seen it come back once to get the whole assembly put in.

He got the whole assembly replaced because the caulking didn't fix it, it won't be replaced first time anywhere.

just another view on the 'butchering' done by a dealer

He had to take his truck back there MULTIPLE times. I can't remember how many times, but it was more than a few.

Apparently it had to go to the body shop to help with the repairs, and apparently there was some minor welding done, as well as the caulking. I have no idea why.

And if the other dealership is taking pictures of the so called "fix" to send to head office, then yes, it was butchered. Oviously it wasn't that simple of a fix (for West Coast), maybe they hadn't dealt with this fix yet?

my experience at cam clark (north vancouver) was average.

I had my car in for an odd problem, and was dealing with the service manager only.
I was getting odd response/updates on my vehicle. it was there for a month and a half, maybe even 2 months last year. lack of communication too. Eventually my vehicle was fixed, and I got a fair deal I guess.

Some strange things I found after I got my car back:
-4x4 was not working (found a burnt fuse)
-stereo was not working (again burn fuse)
-noticed a leak coming from my transfercase (hairline crack near the drain plug)

I found it strange as my vehicle was only in for a driveability problem (Check engine light) that resulted in a timing chain replacement. Most of that stuff is unrelated. I just went through them myself and didn't want to hassle. Wish I knew about some recommendations from this thread before hand.

what about signature ford in the richmond auto mall? they do a lot of mustangs as well, or at least in sales of gt500's judging from all their inventory in the front row of their lot.
