Who gives a shit !!?! It’s 10k!!!! For a NA bmw with a stick. Underscore should be driving / flying here tonight |
If it had 4 doors I probably would be haha |
that front bumper is stock on the 135i and comes with the M sport package. I agree it looks a bit off and probably aftermarket. |

^ probably fake. 2023 join date. Like 12 listings of the same thing. I see many other cars listed for 2500 in similar fashion as this corolla. |
Ah last of the ratrolla that had those big plush seats. Best vintage of ratrolla in my opinion |

Phishing for a dumbass who's willing to send an etransfer deposit to hold the car. Basically targeting old/ignorant/uninformed people. |
If you're looking for an Echo RS ... here is one in North Van, 2004, 214K kms, $4800. https://www.autotrader.ca/a/toyota/e...204Y1&sprx=500 https://tdrpmimages.azureedge.net/pr...1.jpg-1024x786 |
todayilearned - lux car tax in BC is not just for 125k+ ballers got a sheet from a dealer, and couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting the same total a used car at a dealership $54999: 5% GST 7% PST. (12% total) that's shit but it is what it is a used car at a dealership $57000: 5% GST 10% PST (15% total). what.the.fuck the $2000 increase in sales price also incurs an (almost) $2000 extra tax? 3% higher rate? :seriously: btw either car privately - 12% (technically all PST). Why does buying it at a dealer incur an extra 3% hit? |
This one is actually sold already. Quote:

These seem to be dropping in price quite rapidly https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rch...722254877.html Lexus IS500 - $75,000 (Coquitlam) only 9700kms on the dial https://images.craigslist.org/00Y0Y_...t2_600x450.jpg https://images.craigslist.org/01616_...pq_600x450.jpg |

I did not realize lux tax applies to the entire amount. I thought it was calculated on the amount over. TIL |

https://www.icbc.com/brochures/pst-on-vehicles RS got me thinking about used Supras. They're all in this window. There are dealer cars and private cars. It makes a big difference on a 60k car Maybe tofu can step in and clear this up? |

very vague steering, suspension is soft and transmits too much about the road at the same time |
ive never driven one... i kinda wanna see if its any good. It might be perfect for my old man-ey-ness |
That '22 IS500s were $72,900+freight brand new, so $75,000 is high for a used one. Same taxes apply as buying new, so it's better to pay a bit more for a new one at this asking price. A few months ago there was a similar-mileage one at Toyota Richmond for $63/64k - that one was a much better deal. |
The PST rates / lux car tax in BC is really kind of wacky. https://www.icbc.com/brochures/pst-on-vehicles purchased from a GST registrant (ie. dealership) Code: <$50k -- 7% PST Code: <$75k -- 7% PST At the more expensive end -- basically beyond the $125k mark -- if you lease the car at first, and only buy it out when the residual amount falls below the higher tax bracket (eg. below $125k), then you can avoid paying the extra tax rate at the higher tax bracket. You'd be paying interest on your monthly lease payment, of course. And you'd be paying the higher tax rate on your monthly lease payment. But if you work the math a bit, sometimes you can end up saving a good amount of money. In a $125k+ example, you'd essentially be saving $125k x 5% = $6250. For RS ballers splurging on a $125k+ purchase, of course $6k is only peanuts. But that is how my East Van cheapa$$ small mind works. Quote:

so my stupid ratrolla was a few cunt hairs over the 125k when i bought it in 2022. I begged and pleaded with them to drop the price under 125k and even offered to give them the difference in cash/packages/upsell, etc. NOPE. they wouldnt budge. said the tax fuckers would come down on them and i was left paying 15% pst + gst. Still better than buying it a few months afterwards (sep 2022, when that GST increase to 10% for cars over 100k) |
it's not wacky - it's a cash grab it's bad enough we pay tax on used goods - OK, we accept that, we live in a society it's even worse that the dealers swindled the post HST fiasco magic 12% PST on privately purchased vehicles to match their total tax obligation (7% PST + 5% GST) Now it's 3% bonus tax for...nothing? the previous argument about creating parity between the private market and dealerships is out the window. :rukidding: A lux tax - OK, I get it. dudes dropping 200k don't care. 60k on the other hand. I'm feeling pretty ultimate 1st world problems oppressed right now. I can't wait for the dealership model to wither away. contributors of nothing |
