been for sale for a long time.

pretty sure itll need a fair bit of work and lots rust to deal with. solid e30s dont stay for sale over night.

westopher 04-09-2024 09:35 AM

A 5500 e30 costs 20k to make a 13k e30.

68style 04-09-2024 09:42 AM

^ Saw that ad too, I think it's pretty reasonably priced tbh... never liked baby poop phoenix yellow on the BMW's but at least it's unique

it's reasonable

S54, highly desirable colour (to some - i think it's the worst colour ever laid down by an OEM personally), factory hardtop included ($$$), trunk floor welds look good (he posted in the zed groups - should still plan to reinforce)

drive it for the year and toss it on C&B next spring. betcha it pays you to drive it

freakshow 04-12-2024 08:41 AM

Probably not allowed to post this here.. but i have a finders fee ready for leads on a 92+ previa, must haves: clean title, < 300k kms, swivel captains chairs, all-trac

Qmx323 04-12-2024 09:02 AM

I'm not logged into FB atm but I think this should be Dawson's car. If so, he's a pretty meticulous owner and this would have been his 3rd car with a S54. As TheProducer always says, buy the seller.

whitev70r 04-12-2024 12:49 PM

Not sure if this is legit but if it is !!! It's a rare spaceball manual as well.

The Producer 04-12-2024 12:54 PM

looks like the seller is just posting a bunch of expired BAT ads on marketplace.

whitev70r 04-12-2024 12:55 PM

^ oh OK ...knew looked too good to be true. And then the last line, 'no reserve'.

red kryptonite 04-12-2024 01:27 PM

Probably worth checking out. Always wanted a z3 when I was 16.

bcuzracecarz 04-13-2024 11:14 AM

I would love to have that z3, what an awesome overall package

red kryptonite 04-13-2024 10:21 PM

spoke to the owner and he says he has service records dating back from 2002. gonna check it out on monday

tips for things i should look out for and questions i should ask?!

Love the style, love the color too! I do wish it was the LCI model, though Phoenix Yellow more than makes up for that. Question: Do these have the subframe mount cracking issues like the E36/E46? With the S54, I would imagine this could be a potential failure point.

The Producer 04-14-2024 03:20 PM

there's no LCI M cars. they're all the same older body style

yes - the differential is essentially hard mounted to the trunk floor (riveted). As the power levels went up w these cars, the problem presented itself more often. The off the shelf solution is an engineered kit by Randy Forbes that totally changes the setup. You can also add an additional provision for a 2 ear differential cover if you want to make it even beefier.

It's easy to spot when the trunk floor starts getting torn up - the rivet heads start to rip out.

Next owner should probably reinforce it.
