It’s a different type of ‘R’
This is rip it in all conditions, even the rain and snow R.
This is easy to park, rear view cam stays dry R
This is seats and insulation are acceptable for 7 hour highway drive R
Made a ton of sense in 2015 but it was never that engaging.
Mach E GT does all this shit better and has way better steering/chassis.

Not too familiar with vantages but seems like manuals are reliable and most of the car is a ford part special so parts shouldnt be $$$. Better value than a beetle of the same era.

^^ I think if you really want a manual, some auto ones are half the price. And it's also db9 v12 money. If you're paying that much for an Aston and to deal with Aston problems I would get a v12 for the full experience

Yeah the 5 series is going to be more comfortable; 2019 530i would've come out to ~75k CAD options in.
The Golf was a 41k car in 2019 - Vancouver VW was discounting 7-8K.

Isn't that c43 crazy expensive? Even c63 of that Gen are like $50000 and it sounds kinda steep. It's 6 years old already. You can easily get a few year older s class for $50000. I've been following s63 prices.

I've been following s63 prices. | The C43 wagon holds value because it's rare, a performance wagon, and has a bit of cache for not being offered in the USA. Some down south have found ways to import it down there which may drive up prices as well.
S63 is a better value because they're not as rare, and flagship cars tend to depreciate heavily. According to ICBC's 2023 dataset, there are 51 registered C43 wagons in BC between MY19-21, and over 200 for the S63 when you include all body styles and Model Years.

It's actually pretty easy to get 2017-2022 cars imported without modifications.
1) Canadian C43 already has the EPA plaque for the powertrain
2) Which leaves general FMVSS safety qualification, which has exemptions for cars made between 2017 and 2022. https://www.federalregister.gov/docu...or-importation

S63 you will faint when you price out the brakes or something goes wrong with the air suspension or worse if it has that ABC hydraulic system.

Or is this Merc different because the C43 engine is the same spec as the USAs, whereas the EU M340i might have slight variances compared to the NA version?

This Merc is different because it has the specific label that says it meets EPA reqs AND CMVSS.
Even for the Merc, probably need to go through a registered importer to prove it meets 4 or 5 safety standards that aren't exactly the same between Canada and US.
If it's a EU spec car, it probably has neither and becomes practically impossible to import.
I was looking at this JDM Spec DB9 in Canada, but it has neither label so it's not possible. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...b9-volante-11/

Thanks for the context. I know there's at least an importer in Lynwood WA that's bringing them in, so our cars are being funneled down there.
Some guy on Avants was really excited to get his hands on one - I suspect the importer he bought from is sourcing cars from our local supply.

1) Pay a registered importer to take care of it for you and demonstrate that any mismatched FMVSS/CMVSS requirements are met (5-15k)
2) Be someone who knows someone at BMW HQ USA to write you a letter that says the same thing

I've never had a leather car, so I got a blue one with a black roof, a black edition with the Ti exhaust, and leather. The black edition has forged wheels, black lights, black roof, carbon, yada yada.
Not mine:

There was some sort of court ruling in 2018 that granted this, not entirely sure otherwise
