You have to go for the manual, just drive it and you'll understand :megusta:

The fact that it's an SMG makes it a bad buy. You don't ignore that fact. Also the E46 convertible looks terrible.

Anyone have an opinion on the BMW 32x E90s? Thinking about getting one, but don't know much about BMWs in general as far as ownership goes.

Don't get a 323i, mom has one and its severely underpowered. I've also heard 328i has some gremlins with the electronics but I'm sure others can comment further on that.

Jmac 04-05-2015 07:36 PM

The one I'm semi considering is a 325xi

jmanhas 04-05-2015 07:41 PM

From what i read online, all models except the 335i is relatively reliable.

I actually just came across this one for sale, its priced pretty fair given the condition and options it comes with (with keyless entry, upgraded OEM sound system, backup sensors, sport seats and 6speed manual). Its clean title too!

2007 BMW 328i Coupe (No Accidents)

But 335i has 300hp and with a $500 tune get close to 400hp. Such beast.

Definitely a beast haha, no doubt about that.

Personally, the issues my friends had to deal with their turbos and fuel pumps are enough to scare me away.

A buddy of mine has a 2012 E92 335I with a JB4 tune, he's had two blown turbo's, and had the HPFP fail THREE times since new and a bunch of injector and seal problems. All covered under warranty/extended warranty. He's put on 160,000KM's in the three years he's had it, and will be buying a new 335I in the next month ish so he can have a fresh warranty. Something like $16,000 in warranty work so far.

Long story short; don't buy a 335i without an extended warranty, or a big repair budget.

BUT they're absolutely incredible cars.

Damn... I am amazed that your friend is still going back for more after the experience he has had. Granted, IIRC, BMW dealerships would give you another Bimmer loaner while your car is being worked on. But still... at least 5 major engine-related failures plus a bunch of minor ones would definitely have soured my experience.

westopher 04-05-2015 09:52 PM

Pretty sure a tune that ups your motor output by 33% is a BIT of the reason he's had issues. That type of stuff is a crapshoot for the long term.

Traum 04-05-2015 09:56 PM

Damn... I need to learn how to read. Totally missed the JB4 tune part... :failed: FailFish

JB4+ 335i = insansely quick car so it's worth it.

I'm not sure many car enthusiasts could own a 335 and NOT throw a tune at it... :lawl:

swfk 04-05-2015 11:47 PM

Must be nice to put on a tune and not void warranty!

**1999 BMW E36 M3 Dinan tuned $11000 **

If this came up before I bought my car I definitely would of at least checked it out.

is the price fair? i'm asking for someone else... he's looking for a weekend/track days car.

westopher 04-06-2015 01:20 PM

Looks pretty bang on to me. Maybe even a tad low. It's definitely a lot of car for the money and you wouldn't be getting mine away from me for anywhere near that price. Everything is pending maintenance and a ppi with a 16 year old sports car though.

freakshow 04-06-2015 01:22 PM

I just emailed the guy. tell your friend to hold on.. lol
