this is double the price of a stock a4 of the same year... you'll have to decide whether all the stuff on it is worth that much. also you'll need a budget to keep this running. $20k can get you a lot of other options.

it is a nice car, but I would put money aside for engine rebuild and for general things breaking down. For that money, I would rather get a big engine S4.....

What do you think we're looking at in terms of budgeting to keep this thing in tip top shape?

I've itched to hop into a pre-built turbo'd vehicle.

that is difficult to say. i would first find out who did the "fresh rebuild". there are a lot of well known brand name parts in that list, but not knowing who put it together can make it all meaningless.

with this build being so new, there could be more unforseen teething and breakdown problems ahead.

does anyone here who patrons racing greed know this car?:

^ I think almost all 996s should be considered good buys. They are so dirt cheap for what performance you get. For $20K to $25K what else can you get with similar levels of performance, reliability, and durability. Believe it or not, at one time, 993 were dirt cheap.....
