Am I the only one a little bit annoyed? He's basically using revscene to make profit? I'm sure wormiez didn't post the original ad so a dealer can snatch it away before someone else had a chance at it?

Last time I checked this thread was for local car enthusiasts to help each other find good deals and rare buys; not helping dealerships make even more money off locals

I think it's just business. Some act quick some just talk. This thread exists to the public and anyone can see it. Beyond the car enthusiasts.

Even if Tofu doesn't read the thread, his manager would see the thread.

If you're a serious buyer, then go see it before posting it on this thread. That's what I did

Thats not happening anymore. If anything its driving up the cost of the local car market. The road to hell is paved with good intentions as they say.

we paid what the guy was asking for.

what's wrong with that?

Feel free to be annoyed. The ones that are truly "annoyed" are people that have never even met me in the first place.

I have cut fellow rs'ers extremely fair deals for their cars when they do look for me even if they don't end up buying from me. Its nice to make an extra connection with another RS'er irl.

I have helped numerous RS'ers with car buying related stuff even for free and I have yet to ask for anything back.

And feel free to ask SWFK about his sick deal.....

It is a free market after all , if you have the means and desire then go ahead buy it , if not then no hard feelings to be had.

Haha I don't want to waste your time tofu. We all know I'm poor.
Although truthfully, BJ picking up that car and turning a small profit can be beneficial to the buyer. The ability to finance the car through BJ, having a car thats being sold by a trustworthy dealership and the relationship that comes from that (i.e.. no legit dealer wants to be known as the dealer that sold someone a shitbox) is worth a fair bit of "tax" on top of an asking price.
If they were doing it with every e30 m3 and air-cooled that popped up for sale and doubling the pice I may have a larger problem with the ethics of it, but this is a different thing. Its a pretty small premium unless you were going to show up and buy the 1m with cash.

Dealerships buying cars from craigslist is nothing new. And just posting the car in here doesn't pull the ad down from craigslist.

I don't think the typical private car enthusiast will go through the hassle of purchasing a $54K car straight out and flipping it for $8K in profit if they did indeed sold it back privately for $62K.

First they won't be able to make $8K, as the buyer would be subject to the taxes with ICBC when registering the car. Unless your incorporated and offset the taxes..
Second there is no guarantee someone will buy the car for $62K privately
Third if you had $55K cash available for a car, there are many other cars available like Porsche, M3 why settle for a 1M?

A BMW dealership is smart to pickup the car. As it now attracts more potentials buyers with the BMW lower rates and the car supports the dealership as a marketing unit to attract people to the store.

All in all, we hope the car finds a car enthusiast and friendly discounts are applied

This comes up all the time on Porsche forums since air cooled cars have been white hot. There are dealers out there with programs that troll the internet for the latest listings to get to the deals first.

You have to be ready and act fast when a deal comes up.

Remember Blitzkrieg MotorCars had a 996 TT that was posted here as a good deal. Less than 24 hours later the dealer raised the price. Coincidence?

It still pains me. I have to cry myself to sleep after I rub one out thinking about those leather seats and shiny silver paint.

May as well take an ITR, put in a B20 non vtec motor and swap in the 4 bolt parts from a GSR and ask for crazy money.

All Wheel Drive Jaguar X-Type 3 Liter Manual, Very Low KM

Manual x-type? I'll be honest, I don't know if this is a good deal, but it's got to be a unicorn that will appeal to someone.

Yeah total dick move. I was going to go look at it as I already service there but they missed 3 phone calls then raised the price.
