2002 BMW M3 6Speed Coupe - $22,000
Vanos, Subframe done.

Seriously in the market for something like this. I have done a bit of research already. Please chime in what your opinions of the e46 are, what to expect, the reliability of the car? Would this be a good buy?

Been casually doing some E46 / E46 M3 research lately, and my personal conclusion so far is, unless you absolutely crave for the S54B32 engine or its intoxicating high rpm wail, some sort of 330 -- be it a 330i, 330ci, ZHP -- would be a better buy. ///M car parts are seriously more expensive compared to the regular non-M car parts, and the non-M cars already deliver a very satisfying driving experience. Without a doubt, the M car offers a far more exciting experience when you push the car to perform. At the same time, it doesn't feel as refined as the non-M cars under regular street driving.

westopher 08-18-2017 09:15 PM

Remember your non M car is going to be worth 50% of what you paid for it in a few years of driving it, where your M-car in a rare colour is going to be worth 120% of it.
Pros: Big ticket maintenance items done, Phoenix yellow, ZCP wheels, perfect milage for a car to enjoy.
Cons: A bit of interior wear, a billion pounds of subs in the trunk, and of course, phoenix yellow

I think its a great buy at 22k.

Fake ad, been posted consistently for like 2 weeks. Number has no reply.

The Producer 08-18-2017 09:51 PM

the M is a good buy at 20k. Low miles and subframe done.

Phoenix has to be the most divisive e46 colour. Personally I believe it will never become a "collectors colour" in spite if it's rarity. It's too out there. Kiwi interiors too. Rare yes, but it will always be gross. If the car was black or white it would be sold already.

If I were in the market for a an e46 M car, I'd be looking at LSB or individual colours (for the collector price bump)

tofu1413 08-18-2017 10:01 PM

I Frequently see a dark purple (Daytona violet possibly) e46 M3 coupe. Pretty sure that thing will fetch crazy money if owner does sell it.

I think this one has been posted before in the thread:

https://images.craigslist.org/00707_...j_1200x900.jpg

Exterior is not perfect -- there are some regular wear and tear you'd expect from a 13 year old car. The good thing is, there are no accidents or claims, and as per CG Motorsports' inspection, while the subframe has not been reinforced yet, it is in good condition. (I'd still reinforce it anyway.)

Might be a viable alternative for Lamboda.

I like how they get so creative naming a color to make it sound more attractive. Phoenix yellow... lol

Shit looks like a mustard and the color is ugly as fuck. You really have to be a fanboy to appreciate that color.

westopher 08-19-2017 07:44 AM

You don't have to be a fanboi, you just have to be a little less boring. Not everyone in Vancouver wants to have a white or silver car like the rest of the population. 10 years ago no one could sell there shitty purple e36 m3s now I have people knocking down my proverbial door for it.
When the e46 makes that turn from "an older m3" to a "classic" people will be losing their shit for it. It's already on the way.
It was like that with all the Bahama beige and weird brown aircooled 911s as well. Maybe an ugly colour on its own, but a cool indication of the styles when a classic was just a nice new car.

TouringTeg 08-19-2017 07:45 AM

X2 Plus you can wrap it Laguna seca blue until Phoenix becomes a classic color

I like how you used Acura's creative naming to sell your old 2007 Nighthawk Black Pearl Acura TL ... to make it sound more attractive.

Seriously, nearly every post you make is talking shit about something in the most well written way possible. stfu

320icar 08-19-2017 09:34 AM

Westopher, what you said sounds nice, but let's be real. The two main individual colours offered were Laguna seca blue, and Phoenix yellow. My god how do those even compare. I feel dirty even saying them in the same sentence.

westopher 08-19-2017 10:45 AM

Man both are awesome. They aren't individual, just for people ballsy enough to order them. I prefer LSB as well, but after seeing a Phoenix on kiwi, oh man. What a stunner that car was.

Car manufacturers do that with pretty much every colour. My car is "Astral Black", but when I get touch up paint it's the most generic black paint you can buy.

When I sell the car, I try to use the most accurate descriptions I can find. It's common sense. It's a fucking black car and I post pictures of it. How did you possibly spin that into me trying to make it more sound attractive? Don't go full retard on me and fuck off noob :lol

Uh, no. Liking that mustard piece of shit color has nothing to do with being little less boring. It's a matter of taste. Dude, I get it, the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but that color is a tough one to like for most people. Laguna seca blue is uniquely beautiful, for many. You don't need to try to refute every single one of my post. That mustard color is ugly as fuck for many and car manufacturer comes up with creative color name to make it sound attractive. That's the end of it, Mr. Chef.

westopher 08-19-2017 06:58 PM

I don't care who posted that. Simply having a conversation. Seems like you are the one with your dick in a knot over it. What the fuck is actually wrong with you? If you can't handle a differing opinion without crying just block me.

nsx042003 08-19-2017 08:52 PM

well...I assure you it isn't as bad of a colour as Suzuka Blue, Beige or fucking Micra Blue. Imagine that on an M3. Mustard Yellow isn't that bad comparatively

This car used to belong to Blitzkrieg MotorCars dealer, then it went to wholesale market, popped up at another dealer.

I believe that's how the story went.

TjAlmeida 08-20-2017 05:26 AM

If your mustard is the same colour as that M3, I think you should head to superstore and get yourself a fresh bottle..
