compression number is irrelevant - compression comparison is relevant.

Not sure what you're getting at there? Comparison between a stock motor?

I only buy cars with 888psi in all cylinders.

I can't speak for the post in question, but I can only assume the comparison of compression across all cylinders.

i.e. 45psi / 101psi / 112psi / 32psi vs. 101psi / 104psi / 98psi / 100psi

But why would the comparison between cylinders matter if they are all well below spec?

Car A factory Spec 200psi: 1:185 , 2: 195, 3: 199, 4: 160

Car B factory Spec 200psi: 1:100 , 2: 100, 3: 100, 4: 100

Which is better?

That's maybe relevant as long as you're using the same compression tester exactly the same way on Car A and Car B on the same day with exactly the same engine conditions (temp for example). Maybe at that point you could argue that Car B is below spec.

Reality is that compression testing is about looking for discrepancy between cylinders.

trollface - Without coming off as an e-thug, I kindly ask that you educate ill-informed clowns like me who don't understand your perspective.

I am on the same page as The Producer. I don't think it's a matter of "which is better" (using your example) but there are so many variables that contribute to the equation that ultimately takes us to the discussion of "which is better."

Engine temp, oil temp, the tester itself, and other factors can cause the pressure to vary by a large amount from test to test, but those conditions are at least consistent across all cylinders at each test. Cars will lose compression over time, but the odds of all the cylinders having large losses that are equal is extremely unlikely (unless maybe the timing is off, but then I imagine it would run like crap). Looking at Car A the numbers indicate a problem with #4, looking at Car B the numbers indicate a problem with the test conditions.

Dem miles....... so low.

Interesting history on the car. The engine fire answers the rebuild, but those low miles blow me away. I had low miles on my STi and the G8, but 24k on a clown shoe?

I like this car. But my $55k could be much better spent elsewhere.

It happens, my 68 Mustang has a rebuilt title and has collectors plates... accident happened in 1990’s... doesn’t mean it’s dead to the world

i spoke to the shoe guy last week - sent him to M Coupe Buyers Guide || M Coupe Buyers Guide

nice enough guy - he did a flyby our spanish banks meet a few weeks ago. it's clean

no - he'll never get that price. low mileage appeal to collectors is offset by the title status.

He's entitled to ask what he wants. I'm not sure at what price I'd consider it - maybe at half his asking price.

Fake. House doesn't look like Vancouver - I mean, who has a fountain here?

Quick reverse search finds Spring Creek, TX as the location.

- LOW 120,000kms
- 1 year old tires with 80% tread
- Brakes replaced about 1 year ago
- Upgraded Sport Alloy Honda Wheels
- 2 Brand new Honda keys (Honda keys always break)
