wtf i knew they were RWD but had no idea the IS300 was same weight as an E46 for a Corolla-sized vehicle...no wonder they're fuel inefficient |

- trying to downplay body rust - awful gearing on the highway apparently - is a wagon but doesn't seem to have the practicality of one, would rather have the corolla wagon posted 2 pages back or a honda fit this being one-owner and rarity still makes it cool beans though |
I wonder why this is being parted... https://vancouver.craigslist.org/pml...782436576.html |
^^^ isn't it obvious? It's dirty inside. Next. |
I'm curious what they want for that civic wagon, but that ad is written by someone who doesn't know the vehicle. Its not a one year only model, the wagon was made from '75 to '79 Taillight is broken Turn signal is broken Rust is a major issue Dents all over Passenger mirror is not original, doesn't match LR bumper end is wrong and screwed right through That said the interior is pretty clean for the age, pretty hard to find a good drivers seat Yes they are slow on the highway, especially with the hondamatic. But they can be modded, my first speeding ticket ever was in my '79 wagon, and it was an excessive ticket |

This is my car, happy to make time to show to anyone. Tried sharing as much as I could think of in the advert but there's always more! I've bought and sold used cars enough to know that sharing the fine details of a car with deep explanation can scare away a layman who knows little about cars but I know that kind of person won't be buying this car. I don't know if this is the right thread for a seller to respond to questions, so if a mod wants to remove this I understand. I'd been looking for an E39 for nearly 3 years before finding this and taking the time to decide to buy it. It's one of my dream cars so I was out to find the best one I could and continue treating it that way. I hope the next owner thinks the same way, too. The dated maintenance items were done during my ownership. LSD history unknown, was done before the previous owner. Believe the mounts are UUC brand, done by previous owner along with the suspension and wheels. Everything is OEM except for the radiator. When I changed it I wasn't able to get an OEM one soon enough (wanted the car on the road immediately for a trip) so I went to RockAuto. It's held up just fine and if it gave/gives up an OEM one would have/will go in. Suspension bushings were checked during my PPI in June 2017 and checked out OK. Have been monitoring and haven't had issues. Power steering system is good. Repair history unknown. One VANOS solenoid was replaced while diagnosing a CEL. Issue was actually a failing alternator. Clutch is strong, but it is the original. The MID (centre console) has a row of pixels that intermittently don't display. Seems to depend on temperature. Shifter was rebuilt by previous owner with the ECS kit, shifts great. Bit firm when the car is cold but once warmed up is amazing. MAF, oil separator, history unknown. No rust anywhere. Headlight levelers work, both sides. Interior is great. Some of the wood trim pieces have tired clips but I have brand new ones in hand. Only electrical issues are: 1. the steering wheel telescopic adjustment (closer/further from driver) does not work all the time. If it works, it will continue working until the car is turned off again. The up/down motion always works. 2. the right side mirror tilt-during-reverse does not always return to the regular position automatically. In any case, pressing the seat-memory button brings it up. I mentioned water leaks just because it's something I've always been aware of when owning older cars -- used to have a couple CRXs! I miss those cars.... Door seals/vapour barrier status ought to be OK, but I've only visually verified the driver's door when I replaced the door handle. The car has the DUDMD tune on it from a previous owner. I was going to return to the stock ECU but thought if I'm selling I'll let the next owner decide whether they want to keep it or not. Again, happy to meet with anyone who wants to check out the car even if you're not serious about buying. |

With it being one of the last body on frame cars, now that it's lifted, it's basically a truck. |
