on the Mitsu Eclipse ~8L/100km

on the Gixxer ~5L/100km... that is, doing between 8,000 and 10,000 rpms nearly every weekend on the way to Squamish and back for no reason other than to ride.

I saw a 2006 M5 on Autotrader for $30k. Thought about it before I bought my GTI last week but immediately thought that gas and maintenance had to be another $30k real soon. Is the cost of ownership on an M5 just monsterously expensive?

If you drive alot, fuel cost can start to hurt. I don't really drive too much, and if I go on long trips and stay in 7th gear I can get a 12.8 L/100km at best

Maintenance is not as bad as alot of people make it out to be, my particular one was babied and in the past 2 years I've never had anything go wrong.

If the car was abused and the car was constantly at 8000 RPM and LC'd..... no joke keep 10K aside for repairs..

About 14L/100km in the city, 8-9L/100km on the highway or even a bit better. I accelerate harder than I should most of the time though.

The camry does 5.7L/100 80% city; I don't drive with a lead foot but nowhere close to babying it either.

Fit is about 8.7L/100 90% city. Same driving style as above

08 Acura TL-S 6MT

60% hwy / 40% city

Consistently 9L/100km
65L tank of premium always nets in 520-530 km from a single tank.

oNLY fill up in the USA.

1992 Toyota Truck.
I drive very cautiously and slowly, avoid lead-footing unless absolutely necessary...

15-18L per 100 KM.

1986 Corolla GTS
Rip it to 3500 RPM in each gear, due to gearing 100km/h highway cruising in 5th gear is about 3800 RPM... basically I rip the hell out of her with no regard for fuel economy.

10L per 100KM, usually I can get 7-8L per 100KM if I drive like a granny.

That feel when your weekend fun car is cheaper to run than your commuter... FML

Even if you fill up with 60L and get 530km by my calculation that's 20.75mpg which converts to 11.3L/100km..
