wow, that could have ended up really bad.
As numerous other posts have said.... make sure you put a tire or something underneath your car! It might wreck your rims when your car falls on it... but at least you'll save your own life!

clean the place up with wirebrush, ideally till metal is showing, then you can weld it backup or use jbweld to eboxy it back up. then coat it with some primer /spray paint to avoid it from rusting.

Overkill.

The white stuff in the pics is old seam sealer. The plug is meant to be popped out if need be.

In case anyone cares, I followed through with the the rubber hammer, seam sealer and sprayed some underbody rubber compound over it...should be good now.

Instead of risking a wheel (though replacing a wheel>death) just screw together a bunch of 8-12 inch long 2x4's.
