CC2’s makes sense for 95% of the driving population. Unless you do a lot of performance driving in the wet / winter then sure do spend the money and the hassle. But for your average daily… why bother it’s a no brainer
Looking at you MDX boy

winter wheel update:
long story short, seller of a set of 740m ghosted me. so i decided to buy brand new, kinda tired of looking for a good deal on the used market and im running out of time. i went with a budget setup since the gf is fronting the bill. chinese wheels chinese tires for a chinese guy.
new wheels, tires, lug bolts, tpms, mount and balanced for just over $2000
rep wheels with imperial snowdragon uhp
initial thoughts: so far so good... ill update when we get some snow/ice.
cold dry/damp traction: 8/10 very comparable to the branded stuff.
comfort/noise: 8/10 much more comfortable downsizing from 21/22", very quiet at city and highway speeds.
cost: very affordable at around $200 each depending on size. |

Imperial Snowdragon . With such a badass name I kind of wouldn't even care how they perform.

Wait isn't that X5 a full on M? It's got the M front bumpers + tailpipes and all the visual cues of the M vs. the M50i.
Curious to know how those Chinese winters perform in the snow.

Yah, I'm not getting the Imperial Snowdragon on a BMW M ... at least go Kumho? Is it safer to drive a BMW M on Imperial Snowdragon or a beater with Michelin X-Ice or whatever the best tires are. It is the reframing of the slow car fast or fast car slow question.
Like they say, one of the most important parts of your car as it is the principle point of contact.

chinese tire is fine in snow and dry - it's when it's wet/slushy that winter tires do terrible
when you buy xice snow/crossclimate, you are really paying for a tire that's more durable & has noticeably better wet performance

I know several people who run Chinese winter tires on their cars and have for many years. Never been a problem for them, but it's 100% a life altering hazard to all of us |

Considering what comes up with tyrereviews on YT, I'd have paid more for a brand new tire, but then you'd be adding another 2500 on top of that price.
I really happy with my Blizzaks on the X5 right now, I can do mostly the same things as my all seasons, they just have a louder hum when rolling

Just warrantied my china tires!
Pre 25-27 years old 90% of my friends ran summers/all-season because too poor. Nowadays at least 33-40% have winters but cause they go to whistler / mountains.
China tires > no winter
