So I met this guy, very good looking, tall, smart, charming, sexy, the whole package. He works out of Seattle and spends some of his weekends/days off here.

We had a great first date and the night ended with plenty of fun, minus sex.

We meet again the day he leaves town for work again. Cuddles, kisses, and sex happen. He seemed to like me and I left happy.

I get a text the next day, where he said that he had fun with me, and that I'm a nice girl so he'll be straight up that he doesn't think we'll meet each other again in the future.

I appreciate that he told me straight up, and I thanked him for being straight with me... but I can't help but wonder why. I thought about asking him why but I've deleted his contact information by that point.

I'm disappointed because we had great conversation, and I felt that the connection went beyond the physical, and I would have wanted to date him or hook up again when he was back in town.

So guys, why?

If he's coming to town from Seattle just for weekends and days off, it means he's here for fun. He doesn't want to get into a long distance, or long term relationship.
Now your reply is most likely going to be: "Well we could've hooked up more" but that would still lead to the above.

If he was really being straight up with you, he would've told you he didn't want anything ongoing before the sex. The "why" should be pretty obvious here.

What if he was really falling in love with you and realized you were his soulmate but when he got back to Seattle he got news that he had terminal cancer. So instead of continuing on and breaking your heart, he broke it off, quick, to save you from any anguish. That's why he did it via text because had he called, he would've broken down and not gone through with it. In the end, he set you free because he loves you so much.

Is this the first time this has happened to you? It's a pretty common thing, especially with out-of-towners. Feel lucky he respected you enough to tell you he wouldn't be seeing you again, sometimes they just disappear. Best to move on. It's pretty easy to fake a "real connection", or maybe he felt something but didn't feel it click in the bedroom. It's super easy to be duped by the smoke and mirrors when you're really into someone, though, and feel a connection when it's one-sided. Next time you meet a handsome out-of-town stranger, go on a few dates, make sure they're looking for a relationship, then sleep with them. 4-6 actual dates is a good number. Most guys won't stick around after 4 dates if they haven't gotten sex yet and aren't looking for a relationship...except for the really terrible ones who like a serious challenge.

ice boy hit the nail on the head, the pursuit is more fun than everything that comes after it. Just be happy he didn't keep you as a weekend booty call long enough for you to catch any serious feelings.

Here is a tip for girls trying to get into a relationship : do not give sex on the 1st or 2nd or many many dates after. The thirst is gone when reached.

Maybe he realized that he made a mistake and that was his way of letting you off by not being a prick. He was honest to you when he could of not responded at all, take this has a lesson and at least you had some fun for a couple dates
