I'm actually looking to convert some USD to CAD.

Let me know how much you are looking for and maybe we can both save some money.

CAD taking a beating again........ man, should have exchanged when it was nearing 80 cents. But, nooooooo........ I thought it would go higher. Oh well, it is what it is.

Dipped to 1.24 on May 3rd. Now it's at 1.31 and climbing.

FYI: Couple of shops in Bellis Fair will be accepting the CAD at par this long weekend. Unfortunately none of the shops that I ever care to shop at. Macy's and JC Penny are probably the only two participating that i've ever even heard of.

I find it quite funny. A few years ago Americans were complaining that us Canadians shopping down there were driving prices up.
Now that our dollar sucks, they are crying for more business.

I still recall, Bellis Fair Mall almost went under because of lack of business.

The grass is always greener on the other side.

Never mind green grass, it's more like Chaffer Beetle infestation where crows and raccoons leave nothing behind.

Any idea what's causing it to raise and will this be the trend again?

Oil prices have climbed up, ~$48/barrel now. I think there's still an oversupply but the FortMac shutdowns have hyped up concerns. US Feds hinted at raising interest rates again.

Stop worrying about shit you cant control. I get people want to save a buck here and there but this is the type of stuffs you wont be able to, unless you have a crystal ball.

Fort Mac has nothing to do with it. Piss in the global oil bucket.

Yeah. Too much speculation going on. The estimated over-supply is over 3M BBL per day. The entire oil sands produce under 2.5M per day. So there supply/demand is still unbalanced even if the entire oil sand shuts down.

And you can bet other oil producing countries would be pumping like crazy to fill the gap if there's buyer out there.

If you keep waiting, it will probably go back down again. Hopefully...
