Alex Park doesnt scam on LED lighting.. if its a Galaxy S5 from his wife, then its almost 100% sure.. :troll:

We should all call him asking him to do their place.. He'd be like.. SCORE!!

or give him 1 address while the whole RS Mob crew is waiting for him...

KDMofo 01-28-2015 09:30 AM

I facebook'd his name and small world, we has about a dozen mutual friends, all from the downhill skate boarding scene. He probably has been to my house before then.

I've an idea
make Alex Park into Dog the Bounty Hunter and go after scammers like the "philipino ladies" and this supposedly LED installer

On his facebook profile there's pics of him and his wife/gf vacationing in Mexico, and apparently he's a DJ?!

wait so he can't pay you back but he goes on vacation to mexico? change in career is now a dj? bought dj equipment? priorities? good luck getting your money back.

I wonder what happens what scammers scam each other. Like what if Alex park scammed Rick with a shitty phone.

What would Rick do, how do scammers duke it out

I know, I know, but he was a freelance startup company selling light bulbs. I didn't think much about it since it was a minor project to get some lights swapped. I guess it's because I never got scammed before so I wasn't as cautious. *sigh* :(

Looks like his residential address is at 3067 Willow St, although you may need to find his unit number.
In addition, there is a business registered under 2126 Yukon St.

I drove to that Yukon address before, and it's empty, although you can see the outline of a "Diode Lighting" sticker on the window.

Address seems legit compared to:

Do I literally go kick down his door?... lol I'm going to send him a text right now saying I got a "team" to track down his address and I will be taking him to small claims.

It's not the same because the scammer isn't another member ripping people off for $400 and lying to cops about going to church. It's just some fucking scammer. Take him to small claims and get your $1000 back.

I've never done this process before, doesn't it cost me a lot to get a lawyer and stuff? Is $1000 worth it? What if I end up paying more than $1000?

Do your mutual friends know if he's still in this LED business and is he a shady person? I could facebook message ALL his friends and tell him of my story? Seems you might be able to help me... free beer? ;)

*update*
Texted him at 10:11pm. He replied at 10:18 after I threatened him with finding his residential address and filing small claims court.
He finally replied after avoiding me for half a year.

His reply was:
"How much do I owe you?"

I said $1000.

It's now 10:55, he didn't say anything since then.

tmc22 01-28-2015 09:59 PM

check out this link, it might have some of the answers you have about the small claims process

Does this link work for filing a claim?

index | Small Claims BC

godwin 01-28-2015 10:15 PM

From the replies so far, Revscene seem to have a lot less pull on this guy than on Alex Park. Especially since the person who scammed you is not a board member nor an active participant on RevScene.

If the guy has pulled this type of stunts a few times, he would be pretty blase about threats etc by now.

godwin 01-28-2015 10:17 PM

Always go via the BC.ca website.. other websites have catches.

You dont really need a lawyer for small claims (although i guess its recommended if you have no idea what to do). but you can thoroughly read through this procedure and it'll give you a good idea of what to do if you dont want to take the lawyer route. You can even fill out the notice of claim online and print it out with their filing assistant. theres filing fees for starting a claim, but its just added onto the 1000$ bill the scammer owes you if he loses. the whole process takes a long time though

Obsideon 01-28-2015 10:24 PM

*sigh* What a hassle this is, damn what I wouldn't give to do this to him lol.

I'm pretty sure if I did that, my crotch would hurt just as much as the other guy's.

The small claims courts looks like a very long process.
I wonder what would happen if I just go ring on his doorbell? At least he replied to my text tonight (but nothing else after) which shows he just needs a bit more pressure?

Kisame 01-28-2015 10:48 PM

it is a long process, but there is always the opportunity to settle out of court once the notice of claim has been served. who knows, maybe getting served some papers will make him want to pay you back before it reaches a judge. or he could be an asshole and draw it out as long as possible for you.

radioman 01-28-2015 10:56 PM

I would suggest a real stern warning in the form of a letter.

You have his address so just let canada post do the rest.

If that doesn't work. RS beat down crew.

Raid3n 01-28-2015 11:35 PM

send it registered mail so he can't say he never got it.

Pull is all about leverage; not whether said scammer is a board member or not.

With Alex Park, exposure posed a threat to his career/livelihood. As for Rick McMaster, nobody has really been able to figure that out yet.
