hopefully not as a daily driver. Far safer and more comfortable cars out there

but as a project car, they are getting pretty hard to find, esp in decent shape. So many of the nice , older ones have ben sold cheap to hooligans and trashed.:heckno:

OTOH, there are a few out there I've seen in dt Vancouver still being driven by their original owners. Just a matter of time before they are up for sale

If anyone is in the market for any of these vehicles, I would re-consider.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

n 2014 GM was forced to issue a number of recalls that affected as many as 28 million cars worldwide due to faulty ignition switches. The problem meant that the ignition could be switched off during driving, stopping the airbags deploying in the case of a crash. The fault has so far been attributed to 42 deaths. Shockingly, GM knew about the problem for over a decade before taking action, and is under investigation to determine why it took so long to act.

I work at GM and there are average 100+ appointments each week with different recalls. (Not just ignition) ^^ its getting ridiculous I keep thinking to myself it has to start slowing down soon.. how many gms are even on the island ... that was 6 months ago and were still packed with recalls every single make year and model has atleast 1.

white rocket 02-06-2015 10:47 AM

^^^that's why I stick with Toyota/Lexus and Honda(pre-2002)

Chrysler and Ford have similar issues.

belaud 02-06-2015 10:51 AM

Champion White EK9 unmolested.

underscore 02-06-2015 11:09 AM

At least GM is fixing the problems, although they're to blame for all the shit auto transmissions Honda had issues with from the mid 90's to mid 00's

rriggi 02-06-2015 11:23 AM

2001 911 GT2, almost got one back in Summer... It was the exact color combo I wanted and everything, aside from the pink GT2 decals on the sides...:suspicious:

soon I'll find one..

true but I still wouldn't buy one. :)

white rocket 02-06-2015 11:52 AM

Most people I know that work at a GM dealership wouldn't buy their product. From salesman, to service and parts people. That says something. Funny that I say this, all the while continue my obsession with the Grand National. LOL!

There is a guy over on M3forum off topic that posts a lot about his. He dailys it on a set of carbon fibre wheels with no fucks given. Seriously my hero.

Been looking for a good condition 2012 Toyota Sienna for my dad for the last couple months. Today I finally found one and I bought it for him

PandaDog 07-12-2015 10:26 AM

Bump, have any of you guys found the cars you have been looking for in the past few months?

I'm on the hunt for a first gen CRX since I found the VX now :fullofwin:

westopher 07-12-2015 01:27 PM

I gave up. The weak dollar just doesn't work when it comes to finding sought after enthusiast cars.

white rocket 07-12-2015 04:56 PM

I did but didn't pull the trigger. High $20k for late eighties GM technology could not be justified at this time. It was going to been a storage queen anyway. Maybe later on in life.

I did buy an EVO IX and although it wasn't on my "list", it was still a car I wanted to own at one point so I could compare it to the GD STI.

Oh man, it's been such a dream killer the last year. I had 997 Turbo's and NSX's on the brain but those ideas burned in a fire like our dollar.
