Received a call from Shaw, said I've been over my limit of 400Gb. Looked back at the history we used about 800GB the past couple of months guess that's the downfall when living with 6 people(family).

I can't speak for you folks on Shaw, but over the past few months, our family has been exceeding our limit of 150GB/month on our Telus package (basic.) We've exceeded consistently over the past 4 months by 50GB, which I believe is about $5 for the first 50GB, then $10 afterwards.

Seeing this trend, the logical sense was to upgrade our package to the next tier which offers I believe 300GB/month and a 25Mbps pipe as opposed to the 15 we had before. This works out as we have OptikTV and my folks enjoy streaming their content over a media centre.

I think the most logical sense is for providers to generate revenue based on usage since most customers are downloading a lot more these days.
