We sell both Blackvue and Finevue cameras. I run the Blackvue DR-600 and I love it! 1080P is the only way!

inv4zn 03-21-2015 11:40 PM

I had a DR400-HD II, upgraded to a 600, and a day after returned it and bought a 650.

The 600 is very good, but at night, the 650 is far better due to a better sensor.

BrownBear 03-22-2015 05:24 PM

Thanks for the help. I think I'm gonna go with the 650 like ^^^. I work graveyards so something that can see well at night would be nice.

I'm using Lukas 9750. Looks really nice and has dual channel 1080HD.

Finevu CR-500HD

Really good price on blackboxmycar now too.

Just got the DR650 from blackboxmycar two days ago. Really happy with it so far.

G1W-H is the best bang for the buck for around ~$60 if you want something cheap.
Here's a members video clip. He managed to get it hardwired as well to record it when the car is off.

^can't read license plate...............on any car.

pingu81 03-25-2015 08:57 PM

^ video has been scaled down for youtube. 1080P at that distance/angle/lighting would be able to read the plate...and then some.

Pop the video to full screen and 1080p and it's clear as day, even with YouTube compression. 141 MVT is the plate of the car that clipped it.

Does g1wh have parking mode?

No, you can manually set it to record when parked if you have it hardwired but it doesn't have a dedicated parking mode despite what some sites say. Check out the Blackvue DR3500 or FineVu CR500 which are pretty affordable IMO which do have a dedicated parking mode.. The benefit to that is your memory card will not be constantly filled/looped over and your battery will not be drained as much, if you're in a relatively quiet parking lot.

Quick question:

My rear view windows are tinted ~25%. How does the rear view camera on the blackvue DR-650 look? Especially at night. Any videos by users here with tint?

orgasm_donor 07-09-2015 09:39 PM

25% is pretty decent but at night time you may have problems. In the past, we have cut the tint where we mounted the camera so it can see full view and not be blocked. I recommend this for best results

Anyone heard anything about this camera? Like the idea of the rearview mirror style.

There's a guy that sells a more basic one locally. Not quite as spec'd out as the one on Amazon but good customer service and communication.
Dash Camera and Other Products | Autolismo

I have purchased things in the past from him, stand up guy who stands behind his products.

ilvtofu 07-28-2015 02:51 PM

I don't really get why they would run android on it, seems overcomplicated and distracting.
I put one in my dad's car similar concept, the lights/screen are distracting at night but really good for anti theft. I have the wire tucked along the headliner/A-pillar.

Something a little higher end from DOD, good video quality and they have a good canadian team to answer questions DOD RX8W
