Don't get me wrong it does suck but playing hockey for 15 years is impressive and the most important thing is he has his name on the cup and being a hockey player that's all that matters.

@Jmac : True, but I don't think anyone is arguing that. Just don't really agree that it's "nothing to feel bad about"

So are the Canucks gonna take a gamble on Semin? Its not like we've got much to lose at this point.

He's already cleared waivers, no takers. His agent is trying to get him a contract in Europe.

Hondaracer 12-08-2015 03:20 PM

Willy D can't get this room going, you think he can handle Semin?

murd0c 12-09-2015 02:21 PM

WOW that's really sad. I played hockey with a kid who's dad was like that at the rink(not sure about the abuse) Non-stop fights with the parents and he ended up getting banned from every rink around so he would just wait in the parking lot, his dad was native and liked to drink so when he got smashed he just lost it.

Damn so close to making it to the NHL

Leafs fans goes nuts because of Stamkos liking a TSN tweet. :lawl:

Stammer is in full damage control:

Stamkos 'Likes' The Quiz! - Article - TSN

An accidental 'like' on Twitter Wednesday sent Leaf Nation into a frenzy and Steven Stamkos into damage control.

The Tampa Bay Lightning captain drew plenty of attention on social media after favouriting a TSN tweet linking to TSN Hockey's long-running Quiz which asked if his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs should make a run at the soon-to-be unrestricted free agent.

"It was accidental," he explained to Joe Smith of The Tampa Bay Times on Wednesday afternoon. "You talk about having a pocket dial, that was a pocket favourite of a tweet.

The Quiz

The Quiz that caused all the controversy as the panel discusses if the Toronto Maple Leafs should take a run at Steven Stamkos.

"You press the favourite button by accident and an hour later Twitter blew up. But you live and learn and I’ll be more careful on the favourite button the next time around."

Stamkos, 25, is in the final year of a five-year, $37.5 million contract and could hit the market July 1 with a payday comparable to the eight-year, $84 million contract extensions signed by Chicago Blackhawks stars Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews two summers ago.

In 28 games with the Lightning this season, Stamkos has 11 goals and 20 points
