Stamkos playing for the Leafs would be great. If you have the ability to aquire talent like that, without having to trade for it, you don't pass that up no matter what stage your team is at. He could take players like Nylander and Marner under his wing so they aren't being thrown to the wolves like the kids in Edmonton have. He might also help draw other players around the league to play in Toronto. I'm not getting my hopes up though and the media/fan obsession is annoying.

With guys like Weber, maybe bartkowski, hopefully Higgins, vrbata and hamhuis coming off the books Canucks could legitimately get a guy like stamkos but I'm thinking Canucks will go after a guy like Lucic since the familiarity with JB...kopitar would be nice too! If you look at the various TB Lightning forums, the overwhelming majority of TB fans want Yzerman to trade Stamkos as they all don't think he is worth taking up $10mil of the cap. Will be interesting to see what happens with him.

Between Cassels McCann and Horvat our potential future middle 2 centers appear to be filled.
