Not sure how clued in you guys are with r/canucks on Reddit, but there's a user there that has correctly guess the outcome of the Canucks past 8 games. It's truly incredible. Let's hope his predictions keep going!
Canucks town hall meeting was at 7 am this morning.
STH were allowed to ask questions and Linden and Benning answered them.
Supposedly Hamhuis only gave them 1 team he wanted to be traded to.
Vrbata gave a list but 0 offers on him.
Trade made sense to the team as they got a better 2 way player compared to Shinkaruk
Linden said he had full automony, didn't have to answer to the Aquaman.
TSN1040 also said JB was quoted as saying the Nucks are trying to get Nikita Tryamkin over to play in Utica since his KHL season is over.
Something about cap issues and his KHL contract is holding him back for the time being.
At 6'8 245 lbs. Dave Pratt says he will play in the NHL before the end of the season. Vancouver Canucks Trying to Get Prospect D Nikita Tryamkin to North America

wouldnt believe jack shit pratt on anything! but seems like Nikita wants to play in the NHL and doesnt want to go down to the farm...makes sense he has been playing against men in the KHL for a few years going down to the farm would seem like a step back from his POV...
I'm excited! Future D pairing of Pedan and Tryamkin! Forwards thinking of entering our zone/posting up in front of the net? I don't think so... as Mike Commodore would say #packyourshit
he has 37 points right now probably finish off maybe around 50points...dont know how much a 50 point guy would command but I wouldnt be paying him 6mill per...
Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

taken from hfboards, some guy compiled all the official tweets and tweets from people who attended the townhall.
the tweet where they said they punched above their weight class last year, then we remember how they kept saying they are adding pieces to make them a better playoff team...
Quote:
"We're developing the next core of your #Canucks right now. There's no shortcut here, but we're very excited for the future." - Linden
Linden wanted to make a few points off the bat: 1) As long as Kris Russel was available, there was no deal to be had with Dallas.
2) "We had complete autonomy from ownership to make the decisions we needed to make." - Linden
“We tried to move Hamhuis and Vrbata to contending teams" - Benning
“Hamhuis wanted to go to one team, Vrbata gave us a list. Both of those players earned that right. There were no offers for Radim” - Benning
“We liked Shinkaruk, but we think we got a better two-way player in return. The deal fit well with our plans for the future” - Benning
“We’ve got future NHLers in Utica, and players like Boesser and Demko. We got calls on them. Teams know they’re going to be good" – Benning
"We also have to continue to draft well. You can't develop a real core by trading. That's our number one priority" - Benning #Canucks
"We're in good shape cap-wise next year. We've already identified who we have interest in to use that space on" - Benning
"There's a player we drafted, Nikita Tryamkin, that we're in negotiation with his team to bring him over as soon as we can" - Benning
"We've told all our players that if they deserve a spot on the team, we'll make a spot. Next training camp will be competitive" - Benning
And from other people on twitter who were at the event
Q: hard to justify cost of tickets when no change in prices, relief on preseason, see no move to get picks... cut off by Linden
Benning: capologist identified 5-6 teams that could be cap sellers. We have $17m in cap space this year. Last summer we didn't have room.
Benning: our hands were tied because of that.
(gee I wonder how that happened smh)
Missed this earlier, Linden: we knew we punched above our weight last year. We knew we weren't a playoff team coming into this year.
(many people pointed out on twitter how Benning said we're a 100 point team before the season started)
Linden: when you look at that Prust trade you know what we were moving out, right? We had to give a pick to them to take it.
Q: we used to be come from behind team, now we're giving away team in the 3rd, why?
Benning: brought in Sutter, proven 20 goal scorer. He was slotted for 2 hole, Bo in third hole, Jared on 4. But injury changed that.
Benning: There's a website for NHL GMs to post players that are available. Every team does it. For some reason our lists get leaked to media
Benning: but we're going to stop using that website.
Q: are we going to re sign Hamhuis?
Benning: will have pro scout meetings and make decisions then
Q: looking at deadline have to learn from it, mistakes were made--
Linden: what mistakes?
Q: reported offer from Chicago
Linden: I called Elliotte and I challenged him on what he wrote in 30 thoughts
Linden actually went on for a bit on this one. He was agitated.
Linden (answering my question) called Dorsett a "foundational piece", they were happy to give up a pick for him.
