Speaking of “If he can just put it all together…”, Horvat continues his up and down game this season.
When Horvat puts it all together, and his offense is clicking, he is dynamic to watch.
He’s like a bull in some games, going after the net, attacking anything that’s red.
It’s easy to get caught up in his hype train during those games.
But he also has a bit of Kesler-itis, where when things aren’t going his way, he reverts to junior hockey where he tries to dangle his way around everyone.
Even if the other team knows that if Horvat puts his head down, he’s going for that net, and will try a couple of dangles.
Unless you’re Roman Polak, then that works every time.
But in games where the team knows what’s coming, and shuts him down, Horvat suddenly looks very one dimensional.
He’s very young, and it’s far from a death cry on his potential, but if we’re talking about this season of hockey you have to point it out.
This has been bugging me for the last little while.
Minus last night, he's usually had pretty decent wingers to play with.
It's fun to watch, sure, but i find myself groaning when he goes up ice and disregards any teammates or potential playmaking scenarios and just tries to bull his way to the net only to get poke checked and have the play turn back.

take this with a huge grain up salt was listening to those two idiots this moring on 1040 and pratt brought up theres a rumour saying they will buyout burrows in the offseason....
How does that work now?
Burrs is making what, $4M?
If they buy him out, is it completely wiped off the books or do they have to retain some of the cap hit?

You know, when Bartkowski gave it away last night with the net empty... and the camera zoomed in on him sitting on the bench with his helmet (that, for some reason, looks like it's too big for his head?) sitting all crooked and that goofy blank expression he so often has on his face... I just couldn't stay mad at him, I kinda felt a bit sorry for the guy somehow.

his only fight in the KHL a year and a half ago, tossed some nice shots and you can tell he hurt his and on the other guys helmet and got destroyed after that.

According to the 2 morning idiots on TSN1040, Tryamkin's contract is a guaranteed NHL contract with an out clause incase he doesn't make the team next year.
No Utica for him, he would have the option to go back to the KHL if he doesn't make the team out of training camp.
With that in mind, it's quite possible that the Nucks re-sign Hamhuis and the D would look like this
Tanev/Edler
Hamhuis/Hutton
Sbisa/Tryamkin
Beiga
Bye bye Weber and/or Bartankski since both of them are UFA's at the end of this season.
