Not the same girl, the article actually fucked up the girl's name. The victim of the robbery is actually named Albee Yeung, not Albee Yang. I kinda know her. Pics attached of course.

here is what i gathered:

-girl went to td bank at lansdowne to withdraw 5000 in cash. she already has 1000 cash in her purse
-girl used to work at Holt renfrew, just obtained her Permanent residence status. she was international student.
-girl planning on returning to china, meeting up with friend to buy "gifts"
-thieves secretly slash her tire in lansdowne
-girl gets in car and drives to van westside, notices warning and feel weird driving, pulls into nearby underground parking
-as she gets out, a east indian dude breaks her passenger window in front of her and grabs her purse, then dashes to a nearby awaiting car,
-girl is stunned, scared, and afraid to go home

All tellers are trained to simply give the money to them and not cause a scene -- causing a scene can actually get you fired.
Aren't the tellers also trained to slip in some dye packs too, to keep it equally discreet?

Because a "guard" is going to follow one person to their car all the way to Vancouver from Richmond to make sure the robbery doesn't happen, right?

These guards are no better than Walmart door greeters and they simply there to deter crime and do not prevent it. Paul Blarts aren't generally trained nor are they armed to defend even themselves.

Yeah, it's not the same one as the CBC article. But this one actually goes by Yang too....officially. Not sure why she uses Yeung for her Facebook though. Just look at her latest (public) post on Aug 20.

The bank staff are supposed to give a special stack of money that already has the dye pack inside it. When the thieves leave a bank branch, there are sensors near the doors which make the pack explode. I used to work at a bank so I know how bank security systems work.

Anyways, the baller Chinese international student needs to carry credit cards instead of cash to decrease the chances of being robbed again.

Six grand in cash? If she was carrying tens of thousands of dollars in a sports bag, the cops would think that she's a drug dealer.

Robbing a bank teller is stupid. Tellers only have a few hundred dollars at the most in there tills.

I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often what with all the rich babies running around.
