MY99 in north america is also rare af...canada only

I think be majority of ITR owners locally don't participate in any local forum or otherwise. There hermits of the car community.

There is a Sunlight Yellow(same Y56 paint code interestingly enough) version that came out in Switerland that has the yellow Recaro package. Also insanely desireable.

Having said that, SumAznGuy is right. We're at the point that any clean titled, as stock as possible ITR is going to be worth "big" money nowadays.

Over 500 1997's imported to North America, only 250 2001 Champ Whites w/ Red Interior in North America - twice as rare by production numbers.

I would say the 2001 w/ Red Interior is the most desirable, for both the production numbers and for the "improvements" over the 1997 model year.

I also believe the non-A/C cars will eventually be worth more than the A/C equipped cars... strippers seem to be the new darling of the car world, paying more for less.

I am curious to see how much of a premium one could get if they were to sell their CDM 01 red interiored stock low mileage ITR to the US.
I agree with JT. 250 sets of the red interior and I know many were stolen/sold to the US or destroyed.
And you cannot buy the material to fix the seats or dupicate them.

To me, the 01 CDM ITR is a true unicorn, moreso than a low mileage stock 97.

white rocket 12-15-2015 08:42 AM

I'll still take the '97 as the '01 CDN spec only has seats to make it unique. Yes, no material available through Acura anymore but it's only the seats that make it what it is. Outside of that it's the same as the rest of the '01's. Just my $0.02 as all ITR's are awesome and amazing. It's like picking which hot chick to blow you. Kinda hard to lose.

1997 ITR = 2004 STi = 2003 Evo RS = 1988 E30 M3

Yes, sig is correct. Actually 1999MY ITR's were available in most(if not all) countries EXCEPT the US. I have brochures from pretty much every country so I'll post some info up tonight.

SumAznGuy 12-15-2015 09:09 AM

After watching those ITR video's on the last page, for nostagic reasons, I rewatched the Mang Hang (詹昌盛) street racing video's from HK.
I still get a good laugh at the part where the chick in a white Evo tells him off and he tries to chase her down in his DC2.

spoon.ek9 12-15-2015 11:08 AM

speaking of HK, I wonder how much a clean ITR costs over there...

jcmaz 12-15-2015 11:16 AM

60-200k HKD on 28cars which is similar to Craigslist but for cars only. Now the 200k one apparently is a limited edition Type R with yellow recaros. After exchange rate, it's around 11k to ~35k cad?

white rocket 12-15-2015 12:37 PM

A little off-topic but Skunk2 sent me my replacement badge after ICBC decided to steal my previous one.

tegra7 12-15-2015 12:40 PM

You have a 2.0 block? Built motor I assume?

Correct. 84mm.

jasonturbo 12-15-2015 01:45 PM

What does the Skunk2 plaque signify? IIRC they just sell parts... they don't actually sell engine assemblies like Spoon and Toda etc.

I think if u have certain amount of skunk2 parts, you can request for a skunk2 plaque. I know spoon and mugen does the same thing. Im pretty sure thats what it is , or is theres another special plaque?

jasonturbo 12-15-2015 03:43 PM

Spoon will give you a "certified ultimate performance" plaque in the mail if you spend an ungodly amount of money on spoon knick knacks.

Personally I won't buy SK2 parts... I hated their Pro 1 cams.

Toda/Spoon Ftw.

According to a thread I read on HT. A user reported that Acura of Canada reported only 186 MY2001 ITRs :)

PRICE JUST WENT UP NIGGA.

Buy now or be priced out forever, will sell my 01 for 50K CAD and a carton of dodo eggs.

white rocket 12-16-2015 09:05 AM

The Skunk2 plaque signifies that they have drained my bank account. LOL! I have had great success with Skunk2 parts over the course of the last 6 years or so.

The Spoon badge was originally sold by Opak Racing when they were the official Spoon retailer of North America. It was them that did it and the plaques are no longer available. I have seen some "used" ones sell for over $300USD. Kind of a joke but dat Spoon tax is serious business. Some of the new Spoon parts have a certified plaque on them like the oil pan and some body parts.

I love Toda as much as the next guy and had a bunch of their stuff over the years but the Pro series cams are undeniable. It's what made me make the switch. plenty of track days with their parts with no issues at all so far.

As for Spoon, well, I have a closet full of pretty much everything they make for the B18C5/DC2R. The idea was to build a legit EDM R81 ITR loaded up with Spoon goodies but the exchange rate put that dream on hold. Now I just have a bunch of parts that keep going up in value :P

Bring a trailer is selling one. Expect someone to overpay a massive amount and for prices to climb again guys! Someone should take Jason up on his 50k asking.

I thought the 98&up had the better styling, you mean people prefer the more buggy eyed 94-97 front ends and the yellow in the tailights?!!
