I think it's 1-2 cars per shipment man. If you are 4th, you are probably looking at getting yours in February 2018?

Oh man, it's awesome! It's exactly what the reviews have been saying:
Fun to Drive
Good steering
Feels powerful
Slick shifter
Surprisingly Comfortable (I leave it in Sport mode 90% of the time)
Decent NVH
Looks better in person (i.e. less ricey lol)

I only have about 400km on it, so I'm still taking it easy. It definitely pulls nicely even at 1500rpm.

Here are a couple photos of mine:

Yea...sucks for those that really want the car. I feel that the MSRP is part of the reason the CTR is that good. Once there's a mark up, you can start looking at other options....

Have those been reserved by others already?

6 years down the road once you get bored of the CTR are you going to sell it or sell the S2k?

Saw a black one on the white rock Honda lot yesterday, I love it in person so much more than I thought I would. Big fan.

Also, fuck these guys, isn't everyone's intention on buying a car to keep it you fucking moron. Ruins the next guy in lines chance who honestly wanted the car to enjoy it for what it is. Pisses me off

2017 Type R - $60k

Don't worry 99% of these wont actually sell for anything close to asking. With rumours of a more high performance and awd version, wouldn't be surprised if these drop past msrp in next 6-9 months.

Someone had it on a lift and saw the back had an open tunnel which they think would be where the rear differential would go. Can't remember where I read it but it was a tuner shop in the states. Also apparently at 3k rpm this thing puts out 23psi of boost [emoji54]

I hate the looks but I like everything else I've seen and read about the car. Therefore, I'd be willing to overlook the gawdy appearance because I don't care all that much about looks in the first place.

Hmm, I don't know man. Too early to say right now! Still in honeymoon with it right now lol.

My guess is that if I were to sell, it would be the CTR. The reason is that Honda isn't going to make another S2000 - a car with a bespoke high revving engine with unique RWD chassis. What I mean is that the car doesn't share any major mechanical components with other cars.

I bought the CTR because I'm a Honda guy and I want something that is decently fast while being practical. The latter is important since I have a baby coming. My S2k isn't going to fit all the baby stuff. With that said, I go in knowing that the CTR isn't built on a unique platform, nor does it use a special bespoke engine. I also expect Honda to keep on making new Type R's so perhaps by the end of 5 or 6 years, I can get another one.

My understanding is that the Civic project leader or some engineer mentioned that they are considering variants for the Civic Type R. The AWD and/or more powerful versions were added by journalists - in other words, those versions are just speculations.

I'm not saying that we won't see a AWD and/or more powerful CTR down the road. But it can also mean an Acura version of the CTR. For instance, perhaps a new ILX with a Type S model that uses a variation of that 2.0T engine + SH-AWD or even Sport Hybrid SH-AWD.

The Civic sits on a new platform that is shared with the new 10th gen Accord. And this platform would most likely be used for the next gen ILX too, which I think would get AWD. That's probably why there's room for a rear diff and what not.

lol i meant zero mileage never used

[EDIT] someone just told me on facebook that domestic honda dealers were dumping 9th gen type-r's at auctions in japan because they didn't want unsold inventory before this new one came and exporters were just raking up anything worth getting
