I'm personally a huge fan of the grey you've got. White is sex too, but grey is equal sex imo

westopher 05-28-2016 01:57 PM

Honestly I think it will look great. The yellow and sapphire are the only ones I find a bit underwhelming, but they are still fucking awesome.

jasonturbo 06-09-2016 09:19 AM

GT4 production complete and en route to Port of Emden.

:nyan:

Can't wait to completely disregard the recommended break in procedure.

westopher 06-09-2016 09:33 AM

Just in time for your one month of driving weather!

jasonturbo 07-06-2016 02:04 PM

Arrgghhhh so the first world problems continue.

I feel like GT4 is a risky buy right now, out the door I'm 114K or 120K with full XPEL film. There are about 8 GT4's for sale in Canada right now between 140-160K, in the states there are cars trading hands @ MSRP. (Which means a number of sellers have sunk costs in taxes, protective film etc)

Do I even want this thing if I could end up in a position where I'm possibly losing money on it??????

FFFFFFFF UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

westopher 07-06-2016 02:17 PM

You lose money on everything dude. Carry on the tradition.

Matsuda 07-06-2016 02:35 PM

do you want a car to drive and enjoy? or do you want an investment?

boostfever 07-06-2016 02:43 PM

Don't buy it. you gonna lose money

DGN23 07-06-2016 03:32 PM

Cars are for driving. Get it and enjoy life.

77civic1200 07-06-2016 07:53 PM

Jason isn't a driver, he's an investor. How about you buy some property or stocks or something and leave the good cars for people who will use it.

westopher 07-06-2016 08:32 PM

Lol one thing Jason isn't is an investor when it comes to cars. Pretty sure he likes to have as good a time as any of us.

TouringTeg 07-06-2016 09:11 PM

There is something fun about driving a sports car and then making money on it when you sell it.

If you have been lucky enough to experience this once you want to try and do it again.

My ITR may go up in value over time. I don't plan to ever sell it but a rising value makes maintenance costs seem insignificant.

The NSX is not a low mileage garage queen but odds are it will continue to appreciate.

Stook 07-07-2016 07:29 AM

Well if you decide to pass, let me have it pleaseeee!

underscore 07-07-2016 07:44 AM

Cars are almost never an investment, and even then you could've made better money investing in real investments.

Then I dont see why this is even an issue (even less so a 5 page thread). It would be one thing to say: "oh well this thing has taken so long, and now there is other options out there for me which might be better".

But to just look at how prices havn't done the same thing as a 911 GT3 or something like this, and then decide not to buy it based on that, simply demonstrates that you didn't want it because it was going to lose its value.

From any bystander what was typed up above clearly shows that he is looking at not purchasing the car strictly from an investment standpoint.

westopher 07-07-2016 08:38 AM

I think he's a guy that doesn't know if he actually wants the car. Because you know, if i really wanted something, and it was going to drop, I wouldn't give a shit. If I kinda wanted something and prices were climbing I'd take a gamble. You gotta remember he's selling a fucking insane nsx to do this.
Jasonturbo is great at losing massive amounts of money on cars, but even though jasonturbo is a billionaire he's got to think of a risk/reward perspective. Realistically he's only going to own it for 2 months and spend 20k on a set of wheels for it, so I'd be questioning the value of doing that as well if I were him.

Mr.Money 07-07-2016 08:41 AM

that brand new car smell thou & popping the cars cherry getting it up to real speeds.. :fuckyea:
than having Racer boys try fuck around in they're honda's with the Bumblebee exhaust mad jelly.

jasonturbo 07-07-2016 09:54 AM

While I'm sure I will enjoy the Cayman, the reality is that I would prefer a 997 GT3 RS.

So while I'm happy to snap a GT4 up @ MSRP where a considerable margin exists for me, I am not so happy to pick it up if I risk losing money - I might as well just skip right to the buying a GT3 RS part. I was hoping to possibly use the GT4 as leverage in a trade for a GT3 RS or at a minimum, as a hedge against further appreciation in the 997 RS.

The GT4 is oodles of fun to drive, but it just lacks the presence of a 911 - I need that big fat ass in my life.

jing 07-07-2016 10:39 AM

We have a customer with an RS 4.0 and GT2RS for sale, both garage queens. I can get you in contact with him if you'd like.

smoothie. 07-07-2016 10:52 AM

Didn't you sell a 997 GT3 under the proclamation that slower cars are better?

I'm reminded of a popular song:

Gucci Mane 07-07-2016 12:20 PM

^ he was trolling. sold it because he wants the gt3 rs.

Now he almost bought a GT4 because he wants a GT3 RS. this is making great sense.. :inout:

SkunkWorks 07-07-2016 01:24 PM

The days of GT4s for 20k-30 over MSRP are long gone.

Just like those guys selling their used 91 GT3s on RL for over sticker as well :lol

I'm glad it's finally in a "buy" position rather than a "flip/speculator" position IMO. But that will obviously affect your decision if you're in the latter.
